SpikeTV did its upfront presentation today. The Hollywood Reporter has a story noting that the network has changed its logo and is making a concerted effort to appeal to both men and women, which made retaining TNA less of a priority.
Spike president Kevin Kay made it very clear that the network is moving away from its previous target demographic of young males and want to be more “female friendlyâ€.
They also signed a deal with The Rock’s $7 Bucks Productions company, which he co-owns with his ex-wife Dany Garcia. The company will “produce programming from live events, specials, sports and initiatives surrounding troops and veterans with a goal of tapping into humanity, touching lives and inspiring and entertaining the audience.â€
