SPIKE TV MOVED AWAY FROM WRESTLING ON PURPOSE……AND ENDS UP WORKING WITH THE ROCK

By Dave Scherer on 2015-03-03 20:31:14

SpikeTV did its upfront presentation today. The Hollywood Reporter has a story noting that the network has changed its logo and is making a concerted effort to appeal to both men and women, which made retaining TNA less of a priority.

Spike president Kevin Kay made it very clear that the network is moving away from its previous target demographic of young males and want to be more “female friendly”.

They also signed a deal with The Rock’s $7 Bucks Productions company, which he co-owns with his ex-wife Dany Garcia. The company will “produce programming from live events, specials, sports and initiatives surrounding troops and veterans with a goal of tapping into humanity, touching lives and inspiring and entertaining the audience.”
