Former WWE champion turned UFC fighter CM Punk was interviewed today by USA Today discussing his upcoming comic book writing debut for Thor Annual #1. ""He's going to Midgard and slaying dragons and hanging out with Vikings and drinking all their mead and sleeping with all their women," Punk said. "He's kind of taking the whole 'I'm the thunder god' responsibility pretty lightly. There's obviously some growing pains from that Thor into becoming the Thor that's worthy of the hammer, and there's a lot of fun stories in there." Comic book writer Brandon Easton, a big wrestling fan who who was recently hired by Disney-ABC's writing program, was interviewed by Newsarama.com discussing amongst other projects, the Andre the Giant graphic novel he wrote for Lion Forge Comics, which will be released later this year. Easton commented, "Most folks know Andre as “Fezzik†from The Princess Bride and for a few major matches, but what few understand about his wrestling career is that it goes way back to the late 1960s. He was a thinner, more athletic performer back then and his work on the international stage in the 1970s was instrumental in moving pro-wrestling from a sideshow attraction for the working class into a global entertainment machine.
