ROYAL RUMBLE NEWS AND NOTES (INCLUDING POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

There is a report circulating that Justin Gabriel is gone from WWE being attributed to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer. I have not heard 100% what the situation is, but I do know he was scheduled for the Rumble PPV and no longer is. As soon as we know more, we'll try to independently confirm his status.

Randy Orton was spotted in NYC on Thursday, so he's in the area.

For those asking about Sting appearing tonight, as of yesterday, we had not heard he was going to be in Philadelphia.

As Dave Scherer mentioned last night, there was word making the rounds that Sheamus won't be returning this weekend due to a change in plans. He was not, as of this morning, in Philadelphia.

Former WCW World champion Diamond Dallas Page flew in overnight to the East Coast from Utah, where he was at the Slamdance Film Festival and is expected to be a surprise in the Rumble tonight.

There were a rumor among some of the wrestlers that Boogeyman was also going to be a surprise in the Rumble. We have not been able to independently confirm that, so we'll see in a few hours if that is indeed the case.

I've heard from a few readers that saw The Rock in town that he declined photos, saying pretty much that he "wasn't here." That's not what your Instagram says sir!

Our old pal Maddog Michael Tearson sent word that Rock being in town was mentioned by the Philadelphia CBS affiliate, channel 3 this morning in conjunction with The Royal Rumble as well.
