Noting that he feels he should only appear maybe once a year on WWE programming, Edge told Taz that he doesn't want to appear just to be on the show but wants to make sure his appearances help younger talent, so when the idea was pitched to him, he thought it was a great way to get heat for Rollins. Since he can't do anything physical due to his neck, he felt this was the way to help Rollins.
Edge did note that if there was one aspect of the segment he didn't like, it was that he was being held down by Big Show and the segment probably went too long.
