MMA STAR TURNED TNA PERSONALITY SIGNS AGAIN WITH UFC

By Mike Johnson & David Tees on 2014-12-21 00:25:22
UFC announced tonight that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who had signed a combined deal with TNA and Bellator in June 2013, has returned to the flagship MMA promotion, signing a new deal.

Jackson, a lifelong pro wrestling fan, was made a member of The Main Event Mafia in TNA and had several angles in the company, but only wrestled one bout for the company, a ten man tag that allowed him to be protected.

Jackson was pulled from TNA appearances by Bellator so he could focus on a planned fight against Tito Ortiz, who was also appearing in TNA as a member of The Aces & Eights. He never returned to the company and later claimed on a podcast that he had no interest in returning.

Rampage last competed in Bellator MMA after a nasty divorce with the UFC a little over a year ago, most notably defeating Mohamed “King Mo” Lawal (who also appeared in, but never wrestled for, TNA) in the main event of the lone Bellator MMA pay-per-view.

There is a hitch to the new UFC contract though as Bellator MMA officials have stated that Rampage is still under a deal with them. Either way at this point, for those watching the UFC Fight Night 58 broadcast, the signing of Rampage is expected to be the “major announcement” the promotion will be making during the main card.
