What was the reaction backstage to Vince's comments? How has morale been since the podcast?

Publicly, no one is going to say anything. Privately, I have heard from a lot talents that think the statements were a joke. They know that Vince is the one that controls how they are used and there is only so much that they can do. They know Vince won’t blame himself for WWE’s problems, but they also know they can’t make any more money than they are now, so they are stuck.

I asked you this question last year at some point concerning Vince McMahon and interviews he's given in the past, (ie. Real sports with Bryant Gumbel) so here we are almost 12 yrs later and Vince gives an interview and at the end he has done more harm than good to his image. Who is his PR Person and why haven't they been fired!!!

At some point, people will realize the fact that Vince McMahon doesn’t answer to anyone in WWE. He has ultimate autonomy. Firing a PR person for Vince being Vince would just be so unfair. Only he can fire himself.

This dawned on me last night while reading something online about GFW and TNA: What are the odds that the whole rebranding of TNA and the launching of GFW could be going hand-in-hand with each other?  My rationale for this is as follows: TNA starts a gradual shutdown of the company as the expiration of their TV deal becomes closer and closer.  Around this same time the acceleration of GFW begins that includes the announcement of their co-PPV with NJPW. Jeff Jarrett still owns a small portion of TNA, even though he has "left the company." Both companies are headquartered in Nashville, TN. The only thing coming from TNA with a tone of anti-GFW  is that little video from Spud. TNA starts their new deal with Destination America after the first of the year; GFW has their first PPV right after the first of the year. TNA is promising a total overhaul of the presentation of the company all the way down to the logo.  What if that rebranding and relogoing includes a name change to GFW? Something about this whole situation screams work, and just the fact that Jeff Jarrett will have ownership stakes in BOTH companies raises a red flag to me.  Also, the circumstances that led to Jarrett leaving TNA have had long enough time to be forgotten about, especially in the wrestling world.

Ugh. It’s not. The chances of your scenario being true is infinity to one. And really, think about it. TNA gives up an established name to take one from a company that has never run a show? That makes no sense at all.

You've talked recently on this site about guys like Punk and Bob Holly being "needed" by WWE to work through various injuries.  My question is, how much are these guys really "needed?"  Is any one guy (or girl) really that needed that much, to the extent to put his or her health at risk?  With the way WWE has been booking tv and PPVs and throwing random last minute matches on them, there's always someone that they can insert into someone's position if they need some time off to heal.  At the time he left, Daniel Bryan was the hottest wrestler in the world, but he has been out for the better part of the year and WWE is doing just fine.  They did just fine when Punk left, when Austin went home, and when Hogan left for WCW.  These are the biggest stars in the industry (at the time), so again my question is, how much is one wrestler really "needed" by the company?

To be fair, guys are always needed. They want a full roster whenever you can get it. With that said, WWE needs to realize that sometimes pushing guys to work when they are hurt can get them more hurt, or like in Punk’s case make them hate the business. The schedule is a grind, no doubt, and guys don’t get much time off. WWE really should consider how they use the talents. We have said for years that they should employ mandatory time off for talents.

Why do you think Punk, Holly etc don't sue Dr. Amann and WWE for medical malpractice? Seems they both have a case. Also, do you think the CT state medical board will look into the allegations?

Talents agree to be treated by the WWE doctors but they are not bound to only use them. There is no reason that they can’t get a second opinion. In Punk’s case, Amann did what he thought was a good course of treatment. He used his judgement, so I don’t see that being a suable situation.
