Ryback was interviewed earlier this week by radio station Franchise 107.7 FM in Oklahoma City to promote this past Monday's Raw. You can listen to the entire conversation at this link.
Over the course of the interview, CM Punk's comments about Ryback injuring him and being so green that he continued to injure him, never apologizing for it, Punk confronting Ryback, etc. were brought up.
As you might imagine, Ryback has a different version of events. In the interview, he claimed Punk's comments "were not accurate" and were "disappointing to hear."
Ryback said that nothing was ever said to his face and he was wasn't happy to find out things were said "behind my back" to Vince McMahon.
Ryback admitted things "did not go ideal" for him during that period but he still came to work every day and made things turn around for himself.
Ryback denied breaking Punk's ribs on purpose and said that Punk "never did anything about it." He said the WWE roster "knows the truth" and that if he was as dangerous as he was being portrayed, WWE wouldn't have allowed him to work with John Cena and Dolph Ziggler, among others.
Note from Mike: On an episode of Chris Jericho's podcast, Ziggler did discuss getting a concussion wrestling Ryback.
On Punk's exit, Ryback said, "I'd like to think he would be thankful for everything that he has in WWE. I was the one that, for lack of a better word, put him over time and time again. And then he walked out and left. He was beaten up, he had his issues. I don't think anyone is going to question walking away beaten up. But I think people say, 'What does he have to lose by saying what he does?' I think he's making excuses and trying to....he wants people to feel sorry for him for leaving. He walked away and left and just man up. He needed time off. We all get beat up. We all work hurt. I was hurt for seven months before I needed to get surgery."
Ryback said in a few weeks, the entire thing will be irrelevant and that he wished Punk the best and didn't want to be in a war of words as that did nothing for anyone.
