Onto the recap:
The conversation between CM Punk and Colt Cabana picks up after Punk had the medical procedure done to remove his staph infection and is now on three months' worth of antibiotics, Punk said that now he could suddenly sleep and he slept for a long, long,.long time.
Out of nowhere, Vince McMahon texted him and wrote that he wishes Punk could have lasted to the end of his contract, but Punk is now suspended. He said that Punk was suspended for two months. Punk said that suspension took him to the day after Wrestlemania 30. Punk said, "Well, I don't care about wrestling, so whatever."
The day after Wrestlemania 30 comes and nobody reaches out to Punk or tells him anything. Punk said he had to listen to Vince on an investor call say that Punk was on a sabbatical. Punk said, "Huh? Why wouldn't he announce to his investors that I'm suspended?"
Punk notes about this time, he doesn't receive his royalty check. Punk says he has "some wonky sh** going on with the mail" so he just assumes it's late. Another week goes by and he doesn't hear anything.
Punk then a story about being in his basement cleaning out of some tubs that were on his bus and realizes he has a big check from the previous year that was for a lot money that he forgot to cash [Mike: I've heard lots of stories like that from guys who worked in the 1980s] so Punk said, "Well, now what do I do?" So, he calls them and asks them to reissue the check [new year means the old check is no longer valid] and to tell them he hasn't received his royalty check and asks them to re-send it.
Punk said he called the name of the guy who's name is on the check. He said the guy's teeth were chattering when he started speaking to Punk. When Punk asked him about the royalty check, he was told it was on the desk of "C. Scott Amann, who is their lawyer." Punk asked why, since no one had contacted him. Punk asked to speak to him and called both Tom and the lawyer daily, but they weren't picking up the phone, responding to messages and nothing was being sent to him.
Punk said, "What are we, stalemating until the contract is up?" He said that at that point,he was leaving a "sh**load" of money on the table, "but that was fine, I didn't care." Punk said he was happy and not stressed and no one was slinging mud. Punk said that perhaps they are just two ships passing in the sea and Punk said they can keep the money because that's how much his happiness and health was worth to him.
Then, Punk started receiving butt-dialed phone calls and blank texts from different WWE executives, including one from Jane Geddes where he could hear her talking to Mark Carano in the background. So, he called Geddes back and left a voicemail, saying he was assuming she was calling about the money he had asked about. He said he was being overly polite and doesn't hear back. She finally texts a week later and said she didn't mean to call him and will look into those checks. Geddes never gets back to him.
Punk said that at this point, he's talking to the department he's supposed to speak to, Talent Relations and isn't hearing back anything. He notes at the same time, "All hell is breaking loose" as he's getting married, planning a honeymoon and the Chicago Blackhawks are in the Playoffs, so he doesn't worry about the money and sets about getting ready for everything else in his life.
