WWE FORGETTING ABOUT THE 30 DAY TITLE DEFENSE RULE, CUTTING EDGE ON THE WWE NETWORK, WHAT WWE COULD DO WITH THE IC TITLE AND MORE

I have had this idea for some time now of WWE Network producing "The Cutting Edge Starring: Adam "Edge" Copeland" as a live studio talk show. The show would be a typical variety show like Late Night, The Tonight Show, etc and once per week Edge would interview a fellow wrestler. I think it would sell a lot of network subscriptions if WWE manages to get some big names on the show like people who rarely appear on the media and not the D-list celebrities they usually bring to RAW. And I think Edge is a good choice because he's been enjoying his life as a celebrity now and he could be interested in the role of a TV show host. The only problem is that I don't think hardcore wrestling fans are going to appreciate such a show on the WWE network. What do you think?

I honestly don’t see that generating big Network subscriptions, and certainly not enough to justify the cost of the show, if Edge even wanted to do it. People get enough talk on Raw!

So Big Show tears down the Russian flag and the next day WWE apologizes for it.  I can't comprehend how not one person in WWE management thought there wouldn't be any backlash as a result.  I can only imagine the backlash that would have occured if it was Rusev tearing down the American flag, so why couldn't they predict some people would be angered over tearing down the Russian flag?  Or do you think their mindset was along the lines of "we may anger some people, but we'll do it anyway, send out a half-hearted apology after, and everything would be ok?"

I honestly think they believe that they are a “tv show” and what they do shouldn’t be taken as “real”. But since WWE is a quasi form of entertainment, they have to realize that they don’t fit the traditional model of say, “The Walking Dead”. They need some better quality control where reviewing scripts is concerned. That can be difficult when Vince does so many late day re-writes.

Before the Undertaker started his career he along with a few others paid Buzz Sawyer a few thousand dollars each to attend his wrestling school. When the guys showed up, there was no such Buzz Sawyer wrestling school and Sawyer had swindled those wrestlers including Undertaker. A few years later,Mark Calloway is in WCW at the same time as Sawyer and let's everyone know that he will get Sawyer for stealing his money but was convinced him to let it go because Sawyer was a nut job and not worth it.

From what I remember, Sawyer showed up once, showed Taker a few basics and then skipped out. Taker was definitely mad and definitely wanted to get even with Sawyer in WCW, but was indeed talked out of it. He made the right call to let it go.

So I read a question a few days back regarding the double standard about Daniel Bryan and The Authority wanting a fighting champion, yet we have Lesnar as champion and has only appeared twice on WWE TV since becoming champ.  Two things to note.  (1) That as champion you must defend the title within 30 days of your last defense and (2) Hell In A Cell PPV is actually 35 days after Night of Champions.  And you recently stated that as of now, there are NO plans for Brock to defend the title at HIAC.  So, when will WWE realize that we remember everything and that how will they defend the 30 day rule?  Keep up the great work guys!

Never! Seriously. They make the rules and follow them as they see fit! But you are correct, it’s amazing that the use the 30 day rule to get the Title off of Bryan, but yet they ignore it now. Vince would say, “The Authority are heels, that is what heels do”.

I had a thought on the Intercontinental and United States Titles. I’m one who would, even with it’s rich history, like to see the WWE dump the US Title, and just go back to having the 3 titles, and try to once again raise the prestige of the IC Title.  With that said, I don’t see that happening anytime soon. So my thought was, why not take the US Title, and us it as somewhat of a quasi-TV title, and have it defended on TV on a weekly basis, but use it on lower card performers and newcomers to help get them over and push them up the card.  And meanwhile, bring some of the luster back to the IC title by developing good feuds over it, and use it how it used to be, and help push on the cusp of being main eventers?

I would be fine with that. My fear is that Vince does that for a while and then suddenly thinks John Cena needs to look strong and he feeds the IC champ (and maybe a big part of the division) to be destroyed by John.
