TOTAL DIVAS RECAP, YES CHANT TAKES SAN FRANCISCO, WWE TV, SAD CM PUNK-WWE NETWORK NOTE, NXT AND MORE WWE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2014-09-29 09:34:08
As noted, WWE will be broadcasting Raw tonight from Chicago, IL. Tomorrow, they will tape Smackdown and Main Event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. If anyone is attending either taping, we are always seeking live notes and spoiler results. Thanks!

WWE Network will broadcast the second part of the WWE 2K15 videogame roster reveal today at 4:30 PM Eastern. A funny note on last week's reveal broadcast - since it was filmed before a live audience, there were cheers and boos as talents were being announced. When it came time for CM Punk's name to be announced, stone cold silence, so obviously there was some post-production involved there. I tend to believe they simply inserted Punk into the show after the fact, because had they announced Punk live over Summerslam weekend, we would have gotten excited reports from fans. What makes that entire scenario sad is that at the same time they presented it as if no one cared about Punk, they are using his image to push the WWE Network in that $9.99 jingle commercial.

WWE Studios' "Celebrity Death Pool" will be filming shooting this week.

The 9/28 episode of Total Divas had three major storylines. The first was that Bryan Danielson and Nikki Bella teamed up to confront Brie Bella over her behavior lashing out at them and just being a mean person. It turned out that Brie was stressing because she was off the road and was worried about her job (this was filmed during the period she "quit" in storylines), even though the idea WWE was going to fire the wife of one of their biggest stars while she was involved in his storyline was beyond ludicrous. The second story was that once again, Natalya felt let down and was unhappy with her husband Tyson Kidd for not doing something special for her birthday and buying her a gift (exercise equipment) that he really wanted for herself. This leads to Rosa Mendes throwing her a party and attempting to kiss her to show her that she's really beautiful and wanted. Natalya obviously freaked out at that and the show looks to be building to a Kidd-Natalya split. The third plot was Naomi/Trinity learning she needs surgery to has a polyp in her uterus removed and her trying to come to terms with that and the issues her slow process in the decision-making brings into her marriage. For those of you who love your 1980s tag team wrestling, there is also a Jim Neidhart cameo!

No Raw Post-Game Show again on The Network, so that appears to have gone the way of the dinosaur. A new episode Monday Night War focusing on Steve Austin will air tonight after Raw.

A new episode of WWE Countdown focused on the ten best Superstar costumes will air tomorrow.

Michael Hayes is releasing new music via iTunes. He released a song titled, "Why Can't the Children Pray in School?" Hayes noted on Twitter there was more music forthcoming. No word on a full re-release for his old CD.

The new Sting DVD features a photo of "NWO Sting" on the back. That is going to be replaced on new printings of the set.

Hunter Pence of The San Francisco Giants led fans in a "Yes" chant over the weekend. HallofVeryGood.com featured a piece on it while noting that the origins of the chant were overlooked. Thanks to Shawn Anderson.

Former WWE, WCW and ECW star Big Vito was married over the weekend. Our best to him and his lovely bride.

This week's WWE NXT will feature:

*NXT champion Adrian Neville vs. Tyson Kidd.
*NXT Women's champion Charlotte vs. Bayley.
*Hideo Itami vs. Viktor.
*Baron Corbin in action.
*The Vaudevillains vs. Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger.

The following was issued to PWInsider.com:

WWE Hall of Famer "Mr. USA" Tony Atlas will be appearing at the New England Fights boxing event in Lewiston, Maine Oct. 11th at The Androscoggin Bank Colisee - a building famous for hosting Muhammad Ali's 1st round KO of Sonny Liston in their 1965 heavyweight championship fight. Atlas, who has lived in Lewiston since 1991, began his athletic career as an AAU boxer in Virginia in the 1960's. He will be available for autographs and will be showcasing some of his artwork at the event. The show is headlined by the Northeast Junior Welterweight Championship fight between Brandon Berry (7-0, 5 KO's) and Eric Palmer (4-3-3) and will also feature Steven Gamache (4-0, 1 KO) in action against Damon Antoine.

Thanks to Paul Jordan for all his help.
