BULLY RAY UPDATE AND MORE TNA NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2014-08-18 10:51:33

As we noted yesterday, Bully Ray held a locker room meeting at last night's TNA house show in Hagerstown, MD and informed them it was his last night with the company and that he didn't believe he would be back. It was the last night of Ray's contract (TNA has no shows scheduled before his deal officially expires). They have been negotiating but the two sides have yet to come to terms on a new deal. We are told the two sides are still talking but contractually, Ray is free to do whatever he wants within a few days. There were a lot of people shocked when they heard the news as Ray was as high up there politically as anyone not named Gaburick or Carter.

For those who asked via email, I am told Devon is still under contract through some point this fall.

TNA Tag Team champion Davey Richards noted on Twitter that he is already doing physical therapy back home in St. Louis and said he would be back from his broken fibula in "4-6 weeks." If he is, he is one insane SOB.

Speaking of Richards, he has a new shoot interview at www.highspots.com available for download or available for streaming for only $1 at DIYWrestling.com.

A lot of TNA wrestlers were paying tribute to Rafael Morfi on Twitter as last night in Maryland was his last full-time date with the company as he's taking an executive position with The New York Cosmos soccer team. Morfi was extremely well liked as he helped the company get a lot of media attention and was very involved in bringing them into the Manhattan Center, where they have taped a ton of TV this summer.

TNA has no house shows until the weekend of 9/5-9/7. The promotion will run John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA on 9/5, 9/6 in Roanoke, VA at the Royal Palace Theatre and 9/7 in Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC.
