LOTS OF TNA NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2014-08-07 09:43:48
TNA management held a meeting yesterday with talent before last night's taping, noting that they are still in negotiations with Spike and thanked them for all their hard work despite the negative reports. I was told that the meeting left the roster in an upbeat mood and backstage, it was a pretty loose, fun atmosphere among the wrestlers.

Scott Fishman of Spike was backstage at last night's Impact Wrestling tapings.

Obviously, the idea of Smackdown potentially being moved to Thursdays was discussed a lot amongst wrestlers last night. The fact WWE released Mark Yeaton after so many years was also a topic of discussion among those who had worked for WWE in the past.

TNA has booked the Manhattan Center for a set of tapings in September.

Visiting at the show were The View's Sheri Shepherd, a longtime friend of MVP, and Jenny McCarthy, who at one point appeared at Wrestlemania 11. I saw Shepherd, but didn't see McCarthy myself, but was told both were there.

Rapper Wale was also in attendance.

Jessicka Havoc, who worked one of the Knockouts PPV tapings a few months back and is a regular for a number of promotions, is coming in. She's really great so this is a strong signing.

Homicide, Rockstar Spud, EC3 and Chris Melendez all signed for fans after the taping.

The Chris Melendez debut, which was taped last night, will air on September 11th. TNA has gotten a ton of local publicity for his debut in the NYC market.

Here is Melendez' appearance on FOX & Friends on FOX News:
