TNA NEWS AND NOTES FOLLOWING SLAMMIVERSARY

By Mike Johnson on 2014-06-16 11:20:00
As I noted last night, a technical issue within my cable provider, Time-Warner prevented me from ordering the TNA Slammiversary PPV last night. I was not alone as I was told by a cable rep that they were having issues with their system, so TNA wasn't able to be seen live in NYC just a few weeks before they are running TV here. As soon as I can see the show, I'll have thoughts. I don't know how it came off on PPV but we've heard live, it was fun.

TMZ ran a piece on The Dallas Cowboys' George Selvie getting involved last night during the James Storm vs. Mr. Anderson match. FOX Sports picked up The Dallas Cowboys angle from last night as well at this link.

Since a few people have actually asked, The Bobby Roode suspension is indeed just storyline.

The live crowd last night was estimated at 3,000-4,000 fans, closer to 4. I was told that far and away, Kevin Von Erich and his sons doing local media really helped last minute ticket sales. They also received the biggest reaction of the night.

I am told one of the stilt-walkers for the Menagerie fell last night during Crazzy Steve's entrance for the opening match.

TNA has tapings this Thursday and Friday in Bethlehem, PA. If anyone is going, we are seeking spoiler reports. I believe they are taping several episodes each taping.

Tommy Dreamer was indeed backstage working as an agent.

William sent the following....I bought and recorded TNA Slammiversary last night. Got home at about 8:30 and started to watch the show from 8 o'clock on. At 11 when the James Storm/Mr. Anderson match started the feed cut off and the show I recorded was gone. I called Time Warner to find out what happened so I could get the remainder of the show. Time Warner told me TNA no longer allows recording of their PPV's. Since I could not view the rest of the PPV I demanded my money back which they gave me. This means that people going out or coming in late should not buy and record the PPV because it won't happened. I have been buying the monthly PPV's and now the PPV's TNA have. This will stop me from buying the TNA PPV's if I can't record them in case something happens and I have to leave. Thought you'd like to know.
