BY THE NUMBERS: A LOOK BACK AT THE WEEK IN WRESTLING ON TELEVISION FROM WWE, TNA, AND ROH

By Richard Trionfo on 2014-06-08 21:57:41
This week, we get back to the full complement of shows after NXT Takeover was not eligible for consideration. When considering the six shows that aired last week, we were up ten minutes over those shows. When you add NXT back into the equation, we were up a half hour from last week. To compare it to the last week with all seven shows airing, we were up fourteen minutes over two weeks ago.

Raw won the week again and had its best week in four weeks with 48 minutes of wrestling. Smackdown earned the silver again with another week over thirty minutes. Impact moved back onto the medal stand with 29 minutes of wrestling. Impact switched places with last week’s third place finisher Ring of Honor, which earned fourth place honors. NXT barely edged out Main Event to earn fifth place. Superstars dropped for the third week in a row to finish in last place.

We had six matches that were more than ten minutes long. This was the highest total for that category in ten weeks when there were also six ten minute matches. With six of the eight matches that qualified for the one and ten minute match category coming from WWE shows, there is a possibility if we have an unusually high amount of very long or very short matches, we could hit 1,000 combined one and ten minute matches from WWE. Right now, we sit at 992 combined matches out of the 4,439 WWE matches since the end of February 2010.

It took 224 weeks, but the main event of this week’s Ring of Honor show was the 6,000th match. That means that we have had an average of just under 27 matches per week to get to that number.

While we hit 6,000 total matches, Impact passed the 6,000 minute barrier. Raw passed 7,700 minutes and NXT passed 3,900 minutes. Ring of Honor broke past the 3,500 minute mark.

The time for the Austin Aries versus Samoa Joe match is from the start of the match until Brian Hebner got hit by Bully Ray.

The times for the participants in the Defy or Deny Match on Ring of Honor this week were:
Adam Cole: 11 Minutes
Jimmy Jacobs: 7 Minutes
Mark Briscoe: 11 Minutes

The wrestling times below cover the wrestling that takes place during the show so commercials are not included. All times are rounded to the closest minute (examples: a 4:23 match will be listed as 4 minutes while a 4:32 match will be listed as 5 minutes and anything under a minute is rounded up to a minute).
