JARRETT (& OTHERS) IN WWE HALL OF FAME, PRINCE DEVITT'S CHANCES IN WWE, JTG AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-05-30 10:00:00
I have a number of names I wanted to ask you and if you think the likeliness they'll ever be inducted in the WWE HoF.

1) Jeff Jarrett
2) Bruiser Brody
3) Lou Thesz
4) Great Muta
5) Steve Corino
6) Andy Kaufman
7) The Steiner Bros.
8) Lex Luger
9) Sid Vicious

I honestly believe every single name you mentioned will go in at some point, with the exception of Steve Corino, Jeff Jarrett and possibly Andy Kaufman. There is a lot of bad blood between Jarrett and WWE based on how Jarrett walked out on the company years ago and unless we get to a point where Jarrett isn't running his own company, I don't see the two sides having any sort of reconciliation. Corino never worked for WWE, except doing enhancement and tryout matches early in his career. They tried him out as an announcer and chose not to hire him years ago. Unless he eventually follows a Jerry Lawler-like career path where he made his name elsewhere and then comes in as a personality and announcer for WWE one day, I don't see it. Kaufman is an awesome idea but I don't know WWE will bite on that, although it could be great for publicity. The other names you listed, I can see going in.

After almost 15 years later with the WWE and Vince continually shoving the term 'Sports Entertainment' down our throat why won't they just give it up, I don't or have never heard anybody say "hey did you watch sports entertainment last night" or "hey do you watch sports entertainment" quite frankly you would sound like an idiot, why does wrestling have to be such a dirty word, even wh‎en they fans chant you can't wrestle instead of you can't sports entertain.

It's just a way WWE brands themselves. I get why they do it, but you are completely correct in that no one uses that terminology unless they work for or perform on WWE TV.

So last night, was watching a few old matches that Shelton Benjamin had, the Michaels match in particular, and I just think how the heck didn't that guy get over...aside from the fact he couldn't talk well. Of you were to identify a handful of guys that should have been way bigger than what they ultimately turned out to be, who would they be?

I always thought 2 Cold Scorpio was a guy who should have done far more and been a much bigger star nationally than he ever really had the chance to be. On a national level, I'd also say Sabu should have been a much bigger star and it's really sad to me to see that he never really got that big money run. Benjamin is a great example of a guy who would and should have been a massive star just based on his athletic ability but in that era where WWE wanted everyone to be entertaining and funny, they actually cut the legs out from under him, whether they meant to or not.

Do you think Prince Devitt can be a WWE superstar even though he's small?

Considering WWE has signed him, I would say, yes, he can be one! I also believe that when someone is as talented as Devitt is, it's impossible to deny him as a star. I really expect some fun things out of his work in the coming years.

I know some guys sneak under the radar and collect a check but JTG? This is ridiculous. Is he injured? Is he reassigned doing something else? Does he have dirt on someone?

What's up with JTG? I honestly have no idea. He's obviously still under contract, so they must want him to be signed. Whether they do something with him or not, well, that's not up to him.
