RING OF HONOR NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2014-05-22 09:30:48
In regard to the 8/15 event in Brooklyn, NY at MCU Field, the Brooklyn Cyclones approached Ring of Honor about running the event and replacing TNA.

The War of the Worlds show is now available via VOD at www.rohwrestling.com. I really feel that with the last two shows, the company is in a stronger position and has far more momentum than it has had in a long time. A big part of the credit has to go to booker Hunter Johnston, who has done a great job of late as booker. All of the wrestling is athletically off the charts and just about everyone on the roster has a defined character right now, even the veterans who have been around forever. If you are part of that segment of fans who became lapsed in your interest in ROH., I really advise you to watch the recent Toronto and NYC shows, so you can see firsthand that things are really as close to the "old days" as they are going to get. I think the company deserves a lot of credit for turning things around. It really feels like it is comfortable in its own skin again.

AJ Styles vs. Kazuchida Okada will headline the 5/25 New Japan event at the Yokohama Arena. There is nothing set in stone going forward with New Japan, but obviously, both sides were happy with the events they partnered on.

The 6/6 debut in Carbondale, IL will feature ROH champion Adam Cole vs. the winner of a Scramble, The Scramble featuring Cedric Alexander vs. Silas Young vs. ACH vs. Matt Taven vs. ROH Tag Team champion Kyle O'Reily, Caprice Coleman, The Briscoes vs. BJ Whitmer & Tadarius Thomas, Michael Bennett vs. Tomasso Ciampa, Jimmy Jacobs vs. Michael Elgin, ROH Tag Team champion Bobby Fish vs. The Romantic Touch, plus ROH TV champion Jay Lethal and more.

The 6/7 return to Collinsville, IL features ROH champion Adam Cole vs. Tomasso Ciampa, ROH Tag Team champions ReDragon vs. The Briscoes, ROH TV champion Jay Lethal vs. The Romantic Touch, Michael Bennett vs. Michael Elgin, ACH vs. Silas Young, BJ Whitmer vs. Caprice Coleman and more.
