I've read a few times that the referee for Taker v Lesnar at WM30 didn't know the result in advance, has he said anything publicly about what went through his mind as he completed the 3 count?
Not that I have seen or heard. Honestly, what could he say? Refs don't do interviews that expose the business. They stay in the background where they belong.
After watching this weeks Raw (5th May) it surprised me a lot how the Daniel Bryan, Kane segments played out. It seemed to be a little like it should be Bryan playing the heel and running and literally driving away from the monster who wants to fight. Is there any reason why Bryan was booked to look so inferior?
Vince McMahon is trying to "make a movie" here. It seems like he just can't stay committed to reality in his storylines forever. He likes the hokey stuff too much. I agree with you, they did Bryan no favors. Hopefully they fix that mistake quickly tonight on Raw.
I know that it takes time to upload archival footage to the WWE Network due to digitizing content, editing, and clearing music rights. Obviously (and especially with classic ECW shows), they have to dub over pop music that was used to avoid royalties. Why is it, then, that during the Undertaker's "American Bad Ass" era, they dubbed over the Kid Rock song of the same name, but left Limp Bizkit's "Rollin'" in? Is WWE able to hold on to certain non-original music on an artist-by-artist basis? I also noticed that they restored the old WWF Cactus Jack theme that was originally dubbed out in previous WWE releases due to it being in an old adult film? Did the Network just decide to grandfather that one in?
If WWE is airing a song on the Network it means they have the rights to do so. They would not air it if they didn't.
I've always heard rumors of a so-called "Wrestler's Court" in the WWF years ago, where The Undertaker and Bradshaw would legit "judge" rookie wrestlers backstage in a hazing-style fashion. Did this really happen?
It's not just rookies. Wrestler's Court is not really hazing, it's more self-policing, largely for guys that don't respect the mores and culture of the locker room. Overall, it is a good thing when the right guy, like Taker, is in charge.
I enjoy the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony every year because I like watching superstars that I use to watch when I was younger go in. What I want to know is, are they ever going to put superstars like the Brooklyn Brawler, Doink The Clown, The Model Rick Martel, Bam Bam Bigelow into the hall of fame? It's nice to be able to watch those guys wrestle again via the WWE Network, but they deserve to go in to the hof. So does Owen Hart, but no telling how long we'll have to wait for that.
At some point, they could all get in. Brawler still works for WWE. Doink was a good character. Bigelow and Martel would get in on merit.
