EVOLVE 29 RESULTS FROM QUEENS, NY

By Mike Carroll on 2014-05-10 09:22:15
EVOLVE ran Friday 5/9 at the Queensboro Elks Lodge in Elmhurst, Queens in front of a crowd of about 200. Here are the results:

*Blake Edward Belakus defeated JT Dunn (w/Shelly Martinez) with a burning hammer into a flapjack. Very good opener with both guys looking good.

*DGUSA Tag champions The Bravados defeated Paige & Alexander with their Welcome Wagon finisher (double team Hero's Welcome). Solid stuff.

*Rich Swann defeated Caleb Konley with a flying twisty thingy. Before the match, Su Yung demanded that Uhaa Nation join The Premier Athlete Brand heel stable. This match was incredible with tons of awesome stuff. Both guys came out of this looking great. Swann tried to cut a promo for his match tomorrow vs. Gargano but the mic died. So he just did it loud enough that the crowd heard him with no mic.

*Biff Busick defeated Johnny Gargano with a Dragon Sleeper. Good match. The story was that Gargano submitted the day before his I Quit match with Swann.

*The Colony, Fire & Green Ant defeated Jigsaw & Tim Donst. The finish appeared to be screwed up as Green put Jigsaw in the CHIKARA Special submission but Jigsaw had his shoulders on the mat so ref counted it. He tapped right after the 3. Post match, the Bravados came out and distracted the Ants for Moose to take them out.

*Drew Gulak defeated Chuck Taylor with a submission hold after Taylor "hurt" his leg to set up the finish. Good match although I thought the one they had in CZW in November was better.

Larry Dallas then hopped the rail and begged to come back. Rich Swann came out and escorted him to the back.

*AR Fox and Uhaa Nation defeated Anthony Nese and Trent Baretta when Uhaa performed 2 standing moonsaults onto Nese. Before the match, Su demanded an answer from Uhaa. Uhaa said if they beat him and Fox he would join them, but if he beat them he wanted their shot at any belts they earned in New Orleans. Ivellise was with Uhaa and AR, and was attacked out of nowhere by Christina Von Eerie. The match was flat out awesome with Uhaa really getting a chance to shine. I have no idea why he isn't already signed to a WWE developmental deal. I'll go

EVOLVE Notes: Show was really good and worth going out of your way to see. Well worth your $15 IMO. Some people were upset that they had to pay to get into the FTW show thinking it was covered in their EVOLVE ticket. Promotion made it clear on their site that it was separate admission but some people must've not known. Show started at 9PM as the other show ran long.
