WWE NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2014-05-05 15:03:25
I'll be appearing this afternoon on 105.1 Bob Rocks FM in Harrisonburg, VA discussing the WWE Extreme Rules PPV, Raw and more with DC Bob. The appearance will run between 3-5 PM. As always, it was a fun discussion. Thanks Bob!

Eric Sturrock sent the following....Kofi Kingston appeared this morning on CW15(WCWN) in Albany, New York this morning promoting WWE Raw tonight in Albany. The anchors commented on how nice his suit looked. Kofi said this is no experience like going to a WWE show, he asked if they have ever been. Ed O'Brien and the weather guy Nick said they had gone before. Ed said the three anchors and half of the news team will be at the show tonight and he asked Kofi to look for their signs. Ed said they all want to get their picture with Kofi before he leaves. Lead anchor Ed O'Brien is a big WWE fan. When tickets went on sale for tonights show he tweeted for anyone to get him in contact with WWE to have someone on the morning news to promote the show. Last year when WWE had a house show in Glen Falls, the morning after Ed could not stop talking about how awesome it was and how John Cena put Ryback through a table.

John Cena's appearance on The View this morning was to promote his fitness program, BodyChange.

The ECW Hardcore TV episodes on the WWE Network have actually been updated through May 1995. If you want to see some awesome weekly TV, start watching those shows. Tons of amazing promos and in-ring wrestling on those. I just watched the first Dean Malenko vs. Eddie Guerrero match from 4/95 and man, it still holds up and is awesome. If you are an Elite subscriber, you can check out the Wrestling Lariat Archives for detailed articles on what was going on in ECW behind the scenes during that time period as well.

USA Today featured a story on Seth Rollins' dive off the second level of the IZOD Center last night at this link.

David Houston sent the following....Tito Santana appeared on the local ESPN Radio affiliate in Charlotte, NC today. He's throwing out the first pitch for the AAA Charlotte Knights baseball team tonight at BB&T Park. He talked about his breaking into the business with Tully Blanchard and being trained by Hiro Matsuda. He told a couple good anecdotes (his mother was okay with him wanting to play football but was scared he would get hurt in wrestling) and talked about how the business has changed in the ring. Good interview.
