If CM Punk didn't walk out, do you think WWE would have still changed their Wrestlemania plans based on Pittsburgh's crowd alone?
Keep in mind, people were going nuts for Bryan and Punk hadn't left yet. I think the crowds would have still forced the issue and WWE didn't commit to Bryan moving up the card right away either. But yes, taking Punk out of the equation, when he was supposed to work HHH, that definitely helped. The fan movement for Bryan is what made his elevation happen though.
It's good to see that the new talent is getting more main roster exposure, but now, how can the higher ups have the veterans accept less tv time in order to showcase the NXT stars? it seems to me that having older talent job to new guys could be a double edged sword.
The higher ups write the show and tell the talent what their role is. So whether they like it or not, if they want to keep working there they have to accept it. The company has the power in most cases, not the workers.
When people discuss the future of the WWE they are now talking about Bryan, The Shield, Cesaro and The Wyatts. On RAW we saw what could have been an outstanding match between Del Rio vs Rhodes, but it was mediocre. There was no real crowd excitement, little intensity and not enough time for it. Only 6 months ago I thought this was going to be a World Championship match. Do you reckon there is a level of low moral for the upper midcard of the past few years as they are now looking less likely to be main event players with the arrival of the new NXT talent?
WWE has obviously cooled both guys off. They were heating up a while ago, but they pulled the plug and generally yes, when that happens guys don't like it. Who can blam them?
It sure looks like WWE Creative is writing storylines that could easily have taken place back in the NWA, World Class, Memphis or most any other territory. Do you think it's due to HHH, Vince, etc watching tapes of the older promotions for showing on the WWE Network eventually that got the head of creative to realize how stale his product had become?
Vince doesn't go back and watch tapes. A guy like him, who is a visionary, doesn't need to do that. I think it's more HHH's influence on creative and the two of them listening more to the fans. Plus, H has a vested interest in the NXT talent and takes their presentation on the main roster very seriously. It is so much different now that is was back when Johnny Ace was running things.
Is it just me or was the Wyatt Family segment that aired on the April 28 Raw the most unique and creepy segment ever aired on that program? I just couldn't stop watching and Cena made it work by being frighteningly serious. Where does one purchase that many sheep masks? Who were the children used in that segment?
The segment was great in my opinion. I loved it. The kids were from local choirs and they did a great job. WWE sells the masks, believe it or not.
