World Wrestling Council (WWC)
WWC held their event “Camino a la Gloria” (Path to Glory) last Saturday night at the “Pepín Cestero Arena” in Bayamón, PR. The following are the quick match results from the show:
WWC Jr Heavyweight Title Match: Tommy Diablo retained after he defeated J.C. Navarro
Referee Angel ‘Fashion’ Pérez defeated Samuel Adams
‘Tough Man’ Andy Leavine defeated ‘Big Daddy’ David Montes
‘Los Templarios’ William de la Vega & ‘Superstar’ ASH became the new WWC World Tag Team titles after defeating ‘El Chico Ilegal’ Chicano & Xix Xavant. ‘Los Templarios’ were managed by Juan Manuel Ortega.
‘La Artillería Pesada’ Thunder & Lightning defeated Miguel Pérez Jr. & Chicky Starr
‘‘El Karateca Ninja’ T.N.T. and ‘El León’ Apolo fought to a “No Contest” and after some controversy between a couple of referees, the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight title was held up.
In a “No DQ” match, Ray González retained the WWC Universal Heavyweight title after he defeated Mighty Ursus. After the match, the refs took Ursus to the back as with the victory, González earned the opportunity to get in the ring with manager Chaparro for 5 minutes. González began punishing Chaparro for a couple of minutes until out came Invader #1 with Ursus to attack him. Invader left the scene soon after, but Ursus beat up González for a few minutes before leaving.
Some notes from the show:
Chicky Starr was brought in to take Carlito’s place in the tag match with Miguel Pérez due to him being double booked that same evening. He was scheduled to appear at a CCW show in Coral Springs, FL facing Pablo Marquez for the W.A.R. Heavyweight title. Carlito lost the match.
Erick Scorpion, who was scheduled to challenge Tommy Diablo for the Jr. Heavyweight title, did not show up.
Another one that did ‘no showed’ was Rikochet, who was scheduled to face referee Angel ‘Fashion’ Pérez.
They apparently turned Andy Leavine heel again during the course of his match.

Also, local TV news reporter Normando Valentín was also present with them and had interviewed Colón during that weekend. The special, titled “Carlos Colón: En Ruta al Salón de la Fama” (Carlos Colon: Road to the Hall of Fame), will air this Sunday evening at 8:00PM locally on WAPA-TV.
