WWE RAW PRE-GAME SHOW COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-04-21 19:56:54
Welcome to PWInsider.com’s coverage of the WWE Raw Pre-Game Show for 4/21/14.

The panel is Josh Mathews, Dolph Ziggler, Booker T and Alex Riley.

As they showed fans entering the arena in Baltimore, they noted they were a few weeks away from Extreme Rules.

They discussed the return of WWE World Heayweight champion Daniel Bryan on Raw and noted they were down to the “final four” in the Intercontinental title shot tournament. Ziggler said he was very interested in seeing what happens between the newly-reformed Evolution and they head towards a showdown with the Shield.

They aired a video feature on the issues between The Shield and Evolution.

They discussed the return of Evolution.

They went to in-ring action in the ring with Intercontinental champion Big E. facing Damien Sandow. E. was sent to the outside. Sandow grabbed him and tossed him back into the ring, stomping the hell out of him. Sandow dropped an elbow but E. kicked out. Sandow cinched in a chinlock as we returned to the panel.

They discussed the Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow “Twitter war” arguing over Hugh Jackman coming to Raw next week, so it appears they will be using Jackman to spotlight Ziggler as they did last time with Zack Ryder. Poor Zack!

They moved onto the John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt situation, showing clips of last week’s set up for their Extreme Rules cage match.

The panel discussed the situation. Ziggler said that The Wyatts are always serious and aren’t falling prey to Cena’s attempts at humor.

In the background, Big E. pinned Sandow with the Big Ending. He was interviewed by Jerry Lawler. Lawler asked him about the contenders left in the tournament and whether there was anyone who he wanted to face. He joked about everyone asking him about the tournament, including his “milk lady.” He said he wanted to face the best and promised to walk in and walk out the IC champion. Hey, he totally ducked that question!

They reviewed the Daniel Bryan vs. Kane tonight on Raw and showed clips of Stephanie McMahon bringing the “demon” back. Riley predicted that Bryan would be “just fine” after all he’s already been through. Booker said that Kane’s big red return was going to be “bad” and he wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of Kane. Ziggler said Bryan is always feeding off the fans but he knows Kane better than anyone else. He said Bryan would be fresh and ready to face him. Booker said the first championship is easy to get to but hard to hold onto – which would make sense if it wasn’t his third WWE title win….

They aired a highlight reel of Kane’s destruction as a monster.

They discussed Cesaro’s move to becoming a Heyman Guy.

WWE Legends House promo.

The Raw announcers began making their way to the announce positions.
