GOOD NEWS FOR JAKE ROBERTS, WWE SHAREHOLDER MEETING THIS WEEK, BIG E. HEADING TO NXT, PREVIEW OF NETWORK'S NEW SERIES AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-04-21 09:27:06
WWE will hold their annual Shareholder Meeting this Friday 4/25. One of the main orders of business will be the election of the company’s Directors, including Vince McMahon, for another year. Obviously, that is going to happen.

As noted, Raw will be broadcast tonight from Baltimore, Maryland. Tomorrow, WWE will broadcast Main Event and tape Smackdown from Hershey, PA. Locally advertised for Hersey is WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and The Shield vs. Kane, Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family. WWE will tape NXT this Thursday 4/24 from Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL with WWE Intercontinental champion Big E. announced as appearing.

Good news on the health front for WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts as he wrote yesterday on Twitter, "Must have one more surgery on spot on leg to b sure area cancer free. Have to have scans done every 3 months to monitor my body. Cancer free. Indeed cancer free and sober one day at a time. Happy Easter and God bless all.” That is awesome and we wish Jake nothing but the best.

After being preempted for the Ultimate Warrior tribute programming, the Smackdown post-game show should return this week on the WWE Network.

The first episode of Best of WWE Hall of Fame on the Network this Tuesday will feature Hall of Fame Inductions of Hulk Hogan by Sylvester Stallone (2005), Trish Stratus by Stephanie McMahon (2013), and Bobby Heenan by Jack Lanza (2004, Heenan’s acceptance speech is well worth going out of your way to see). The second episode on Wednesday will feature inductions of Pete Rose by Kane (2004) and Ric Flair by Triple H (2008). Josh Mathews will be hosting the series.

The 5/6 episode of ABC’s “The Goldbergs” will indeed include a tribute to The Ultimate Warrior on their pro-wrestling themed episode. If you haven’t seen the show, it’s one of the best sitcoms to come around in a few years, and is worth going out of your way to watch, especially if you have a fondness for the 1980s, when it is set.

Our friends at Ringside Collectibles.com have a ton of brand new WWE t-shirts, especially kids sizes in stock at this link.

Voting for the Webby Awards, which WWE has nomination for in several categories, will end in several days. The Awards will be announced on 5/20.

Set for this Thursday’s WWE NXT broadcast on the Network, with the show then hitting international TV distribution:

*WWE Tag Team champions The Usos & Sami Zayn vs. Corey Graves & WWE NXT Tag Team champions The Ascension.
*Sasha Banks and Charlotte vs. Emma and WWE Divas champ Paige.
*Alexander Rusev vs.Travis Tyler.
*Tyson Kidd vs. Mason Ryan.
*Tyler Breeze vs. Angelo Dawkins.
