BY THE NUMBERS: LOOKING AT THE WEEK IN WRESTLING ON TELEVISION FROM WWE, TNA, AND ROH

By Richard Trionfo on 2014-04-21 06:33:31
After having its worst week for wrestling in more than a year, Raw returned to the top of the mountain with a more respectable week of wrestling. While needing ten matches to get to its 45 minute total, it was the highest total in 4 weeks. Impact finished in second place and stayed above 30 minutes for the third straight week. NXT finished in fourth place while Main Event barely beat out Superstars for fifth place.

Main Event was under 20 minutes for the second time in three weeks and they had their worst week for wrestling since August 28, 2013.

For the first time since the week of August 20, 2012, there was only one ten minute match. This week’s only ten minute match was the final match of the week on Smackdown. That was the 400th ten minute match from WWE from a show other than Raw.

This week saw the 32,000 minute barrier passed for overall wrestling while Raw passed 7,400 minutes, Superstars passed 3,700 minutes, and Smackdown passed 6,200 minutes.

Main Event fell below the 22 minute per hour average, but should be able to get back over 22 minutes this week. They will need to have at least 23 minutes of wrestling on this week’s show. That is a total that they have reached only once in the last five weeks.

Ring of Honor returns to the Road Rage episodes so they do not count in the column since it was not an announced television taping. The matches on this week’s show were Roderick Strong versus Cedric Alexander that went 7 Minutes; ACH, Andrew Everett, and Tadarius Thomas versus Jimmy Jacobs, BJ Whitmer, and Adam Page that went 8 Minutes; and Kevin Steen versus Michael Elgin that went 14 Minutes.

The wrestling times below cover the wrestling that takes place during the show so commercials are not included. All times are rounded to the closest minute (examples: a 4:23 match will be listed as 4 minutes while a 4:32 match will be listed as 5 minutes and anything under a minute is rounded up to a minute).
