RING OF HONOR TELEVISION REPORT: MORE MATCHES FROM SUPERCARD OF HONOR INCLUDING STEEN VERSUS ELGIN; AND MORE

We are in New Orleans for more matches and footage from Supercard of Honor VIII that took place during the first weekend of April. We will see highlights from Ladder Wars between Adam Cole and Jay Briscoe. We will also see Kevin Steen versus Michael Elgin with the winner earning a shot at the IWGP Title. We will also see Roderick Strong versus Cedric Alexander.

Your announcers are Kevin ‘Bourbon Street’ Kelly and Steve ‘French Quarter’ Corino.

Match Number One: Cedric Alexander versus Roderick Strong (with Jimmy Jacobs, BJ Whitmer, and Adam Page)

They lock up despite no Code of Honor. Strong with a wrist lock. Alexander with a reversal. Strong with a cartwheel and reversal. Alexander with a side head lock but Strong escapes and he returns to the arm and wrist. Alexander with a reversal. Strong escapes and they go to a stalemate. Jacobs throws something at Alexander and the referee warns The Decade.

They lock up and Strong with a side head lock. Strong with a shoulder tackle and he kicks Alexander. Alexander with a drop kick followed by a chop. Alexander with more chops and forearms. Alexander with an Irish whip but Strong sends Alexander into the turnbuckles when he charges into the corner. Strong is bleeding and he chops Alexander. Strong and Alexander exchange chops. Strong with an Irish whip but he runs into an elbow. Strong pulls Alexander off the turnbuckles and he gets a near fall.

Strong kicks Alexander and he connects with a forearm. We go to commercial.

We are back and both men are down. Alexander gets Strong on his shoulders but Strong with an elbow. Alexander with an elbow. Strong with a knee followed by an Olympic Slam for a near fall. Strong waits for Alexander to get to his feet and Strong with a running knee into the corner followed by forearm. Alexander counters a uranage back breaker with a crucifix for a near fall. Strong with a back breaker after pulling Alexander out of the corner and Strong gets a near fall.

Alexander with a back heel kick and chops. Strong chops back. They go back and forth but Strong gets the advantage. Alexander misses a kick out of the corner and Strong with a leaping knee to the head followed by the gutbuster from a fireman’s carry for a near fall. Strong tries for a suplex but Alexander blocks it.

Alexander hits an enzuigiri off the turnbuckles and both men are down. Alexander with a running drop kick into the corner and then he knocks Page off the apron. Alexander gets Strong on his shoulders and he hits a round kick as he releases Strong. Alexander sees Jacobs get on the apron and Alexander hits a running spinning heel kick.

Alexander with a flip dive onto Whitmer and Page. Alexander goes up top but Strong counters a springboard move with a drop kick and then Strong hits the End of Heartache for the three count.

Winner: Roderick Strong

After the match Jacobs gets on the mic and he says that Strong is one of the best in the world. He tells the kids that they can learn what not to do by watching Cedric Alexander. You can watch how to act when you come into a company by watching Adam Page. Adam Page is earning his spot.

Cedric gets on the apron but the referee holds him back while Jacobs tells Cedric to get out of their ring. He tells Adrenaline Rush and Andrew Everett to learn from Cedric and what not to do.

Match Number Two: ACH, Tadarius Thomas, and Andrew Everett versus Jimmy Jacobs, BJ Whitmer, and Adam Page in a Scramble Rules Match

The match is joined in progress and Whitmer with an Irish whip but ACH floats over and he hits a drop kick but Whitmer stays on his feet. ACH with another drop kick and Whitmer stays on his feet. ACH with a drop kick to the knees when Whitmer is ready to block a normal drop kick. ACH with a drop kick to the head and Jacobs comes in when Whitmer goes to the floor. Jacobs kicks ACH and ACH goes to the floor so Thomas comes in and hits a shoulder tackle.

Thomas with a rollup for a near fall. Thomas with kicks to Jacobs followed by a wraparound clothesline for a near fall. Jacobs sends Thomas to the floor and Everett comes in. Everett goes for a springboard moonsault but Jacobs moves and Everett lands on his feet. Everett with a head scissors and he kips up.

Everett with a drop kick and Page comes in. Page with an Irish wihp and Everett floats over and hits a rana that sends Page to the floor. Everett is tripped by Whitmer and pulled to the floor. Thomas with a forearm to Jacobs. Jacobs with an Irish whip and Thomas with a double jump Asai Moonsault onto Page, Whitmer, and Everett.

Jacobs looks at what happened on the floor and ACH is sent to the apron and then Whitmer gets ACH on his shoulders and Jacobs with a suicide dive spear to ACH and everyone goes down. Whitmer sends ACH back into the ring and he sends ACH into the turnbuckles. Whitmer with chops. Jacobs tags in and they send ACH back first into the turnbuckles.

Jacobs with a knee and double sledges. Jacobs gets a near fall. Jacobs with a head butt to ACH followed by a slam and he tags in Page but Whitmer comes in too and they all pick up ACH and send him to the mat. Page gets a near fall. Page with a slam and a reverse chin lock. ACH with a jawbreaker but Page with a spinning heel kick for a near fall.

Page Irish whips ACH into the corner and then he chops him based on the instructions of Whitmer and Jacobs. Page with another chop and Whitmer tags in. Whitmer mocks ACH and Jacobs kicks him too. ACH with punches but Whitmer with a knee and he slaps ACH in the face. Whitmer gets clotheslined over the top rope to the floor. ACH with a springboard flip dive onto Whitmer. Thomas with a chop to Jacobs and he kicks Jacobs in the head and follows with a drop kick for a near fall. Jacobs with a jawbreaker.

Thomas with a half nelson suplex and then he kicks Page in the chest. Page with a back breaker. Everett comes in and he kicks Page and then he goes for a springboard move but he falls in the ropes. Page goes for a German superplex but Everett with an elbow. Everett with a moonsault.

Whitmer comes in and Everett with elbows. Everett with a springboard round kick and then he looks like he is going to go for a quebrada, but instead of trying to win the match, he goes for a springboard shooting star press onto Page, Thomas, ACH, and Jacobs. Everett hits a springboard shooting star press for a near fall.

Everett is sent over the top rope onto a photographer and Whitmer with a clothesline to Thomas. Whitmer sets up Thomas for the All Seeing Eye and the three count.

Winners: Jimmy Jacobs, BJ Whitmer, and Adam Page

After the match, Jacobs has the spike and Tadarius Thomas is in the ring. Whitmer throws a bottle of water at ACH on the floor. Jacbos is about to hit Thomas with the spike but he puts it away and leaves the ring.

We go to commercial.

We are back with footage from Ladder Wars, but first we see what happened last year when Jay Briscoe won the Ring of Honor World Title at Supercard of Honor VII. We see footage of his title defenses. Then we see the announcement that Jay Briscoe would have to surrender the World Title.

We see Adam Cole winning the World Title and Jay hands him the title . . . only to disrespect Adam and Adam super kicked Jay to the back of the head.

Then Jay decided to bring his own title belt into the company.

Adam and Jay talk about their Ladder War at Supercard of Honor VIII.

We see photos from Ladder War V. Kevin says they were going to show the match in its entirety but he says it was so violent and gory that they cannot do it. If you want to see the entire match, you can watch it on the ROH website.

We are back and Nigel McGuinness has joined Kevin at the announce table.

Match Number Three: Kevin Steen versus Michael Elgin in an IWGP Title Number One Contender Match

Steen with a kick and he tries for the Package Piledriver but Elgin escapes. Elgin with a back fist and punches. Steen with an Irish whip and running clothesline into the corner followed by a cannonball for a near fall. Steen with a kick and Elgin goes to the floor. Steen chops Elgin and Elgin chops back. Steen sends Elgin into the guardrails.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Elgin picks up Steen and he sets for a suplex on the floor and he turns it into a delayed vertical suplex on the floor. Elgin breaks the referee’s count and returns to the floor. Elgin rolls Steen back into the ring and Elgin gets a near fall. Elgin backs Steen into the corner and Elgin with a chop. Steen pushes Elgin.

Elgin with forearms in the corner. Elgin with a drop kick and he gets a near fall. Steen with chops but Elgin with a kick to the chest. Steen sends Elgin over the top rope and Elgin lands on the apron. Steen with a running knee and a hanging DDT for a near fall. Steen picks up Elgin and slams Elgin and hits a back senton and gets a near fall.

Steen with a forearm and chop followed by a shoulder in the corner. Steen with another shoulder in the corner. Steen with one more shoulder in the corner. Steen with an Irish whip but Elgin with a boot and enzuigiri. Elgin with a dead lift German suplex and both men are down. Both men go for clotheslines and they stay on their feet.

Elgin goes for a crossface but Steen rolls through and tries for a Sharpshooter but Elgin avoids it. Elgin with a spinning side slam for a near fall. Elgin pulls Steen into the center of the ring and then he points to the turnbuckles for a twisting senton but Steen moves and Elgin hits the mat. Steen gets Elgin up but Elgin gets to his feet.

Steen with elbows while Elgin has Steen in a waist lock. Steen with a kick followed by a shoulder breaker for a near fall. Steen sets for another cannonball but Elgin catches Steen and picks him up for a power bomb. Steen gets Elgin up for the F-Cinq but Elgin kicks out at two because Steen didn’t fully hit the move.

We go to commercial.

We are back and both men are down. Elgin gets to his feet first and he goes for a power bomb but Steen escapes. Steen with a forearm and he tries for the sleeper suplex but Elgin with a snap mare to escape. Elgin with a forearm. Steen with a power bomb and then he sets for the package piledriver and he hits it but Elgin kicks out at two.

Steen cannot believe that Elgin kicked out but the referee explains that Elgin got his shoulder up. Steen rolls to the apron and then he goes up top for a senton and Elgin gets his knees up. Both men struggle to get to their feet while the referee makes his count. Steen is up first and he runs into the corner but Elgin with an uranage followed by a back fist.

Elgin with a buckle bomb followed by a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Elgin and Steen fall into the corner. Elgin puts Steen on the turnbuckles, but it is Steen who hits the superplex but Steen gets a near fall. Steen tries for the package piledriver but Elgin counters with a sunset flip and he hits three power bombs and Elgin collapses to the mat.

Elgin signals that it is over and he tries to pick up Steen but Steen falls to the mat. Elgin with a buckle bomb but Steen with a sleeper suplex. Elgin with a lariat and another buckle bomb. Elgin goes for a package piledriver and the three count.

Winner: Michael Elgin
