On a separate note still related to the event, ‘El Rey de la Lucha Libre’ Chicky Starr is scheduled to make his official return to WWC during this weekend’s “Camino a la Gloria” events.  It has not been said if it will be as a manager or as a wrestler, but it does not matter.  He has always been so good at what he does that people always follow him wherever he takes his talents.  It will be interesting to see his interaction with Invader #1 since Starr has always been the heel in their eternal feud.  We’ll have to see how they play up that story or if the roles will reverse and Starr will have his run as babyface now.

For those of you who have asked, Chicano has been resting and rehabbing the groin injury he suffered during the Tag Title match on “La Hora de la Verdad” event.  He is feeling much better and will be taking part on the Tag Title rematch during this weekend’s event.

Last week there was a press conference in which Carlos Colon officially announced his “last farewell tour”.  The tour will begin on Friday May 16th with a show at the ‘Manuel “Petaca” Iguina Coliseum’ in Arecibo, PR.  The other date that has been confirm is Saturday May 31st with a show taking place at brand new Multi-use Coliseum located in Humacao, PR.  This will be the first ever wrestling event in this building, which is said to be state of the art.  Colon also stated that he will have some sort of a special role during the tour, but would not disclose what the role would entail.  In recent weeks there was talk of him having a special referee role in a match although no word on who would be involved in said match.

Former WWC Jr. Heavyweight champion, Syler Andrews officially announced via his fan-page that he is no longer associated with WWC in any capacity.  He confirmed that he had suffered a knee injury and he had needed some rest and rehabbing to get it back in to shape.  He is said to be ready for anything that could come up in the near future.  In his message he thanked everyone in the company for the opportunity that he was given.  He sent a very special thanks to his friend, WWC & TNA announcer Willie Urbina.  He finished his message with the followingstatement: “This is not the end.  It took some time to make my name; but now... It might take time to make an â€ª#‎IMPACT, tell’em Willie”.

Lucha Libre – IGWA

IGWA held their event ‘REBELIÓN 2014’ last Saturday April 12th at the ‘Jose Chefo De Leon Auditorium located in Florida, PR.  The following are the results from the event:

-          Deadman Dark defeated “El Jibaro”
-          ‘Rey del Aire Magico’ defeated Vennum.  Vennum took a really nasty bump during this match, but still managed to finish it.
-          ‘La Resistencia’ came out for their match with ‘Los Reyes del Teke.  However, out came Dragon Supremo and IGWA President Aryam de la Cruz and told Bamm Bamm Hardcore that he was not allowed to wrestle due to not being cleared by the doctor after his recent knee surgery.  They then announce that ‘Los Reyes del Teke’ would have individual matches against ‘Team Samoa’.  This gives way to a match between ‘Tanu’ against Crazy Louis.  Paul Santiago interfered in the match on behalf of Louis.  This brought out President De la Cruz again, and she then made the match a tag team match, which ended up in a double DQ after a wild match that was all over the place.
-          Red Neck Johnson defeated Erebos.
-          ‘El Rey de la Lucha Libre’ Chicky Starr began his revenge by beating Jan Carlos Rosado.  After the match Starr took the mic and stated that he will be chasing all that took part in making him lose the IGWA title.  He will take them down one by one until he gets to his target, Chief Attakullakulla, and regain what is rightfully his… the IGWA Heavyweight championship.
-          Oscar Candelaria defeated ‘Hollywood’ Jeff Razor w/ Van Kayser.  Kayser interfered all throughout the match, helping Razor.  However, one mistake is all Candelaria needed to get the victory after Kayser was holding him and Razor went in for the hit, only to have Candelaria move away, thus having Kayser take the blow.  Candelaria then took Razor down with a small package for the win in front of a very much excited crowd in his hometown.

At the moment, the next event announced is “IGWA PAYBACK III”, scheduled to take place at the ‘Jose Chefo De Leon Auditorium located in Florida, PR.  Also, they have been promoting that soon they will be making some announcements regarding the event “ColiseoMania 2014”.  If you are in Puerto Rico, you can watch IGWA on the local CBS station (WSEE-PR).  Check your listings for times and channel line-up depending on cable or satellite provider.
