The first-ever AJ Styles vs. AR Fox match was held over the weekend by UWE in Harrisburg, PA and was said to have been fantastic and one of the best Fox matches to date. Â Styles beat him with the Styles Clash in a bout where they each pulled out good dives. Â Styles praised Fox after on the mic, saying he was one of the best wrestlers Styles has faced yet. Â Kevin Nash was there as well, as a guest enforcer during a UWE title four way. Â Sage Strong won the belt but the title change was later reversed because Nash got physically involved. Â Tony Nese worked the undercard, losing to Eddie Smooth. Â The show drew in the area of 1,000 based on local promotion. Â A lot of indy promotions pay closer attention to Facebook and the Internet but posters and flyers in the towns will always be a far more effective promotional tool.
Illinois' AAW, which debuted two weeks ago on MaddyGTV in Illinois (and for free on Roku if you add that channel; the episodes are archived via VOD) will be holding EPIC, its 10 Year Anniversary Event this Friday 3/21 in Berwyn, IL headlined by Men of the Year (Michael Elgin & #ALLEGO) vs. Irish Airborne (Dave & Jake Crist) for the AAW Tag Team titles, Marek Brave vs. Knight Wagner and Heidi Loveless vs. Seleziya Sparx announced, plus AAW champion Shane Hollister, AAW Heritage Champion Matt Cage, Alex Shelley's return to the company, Colt Cabana, Jimmy Jacobs, Eddie Kingston, Silas Young, Dan Lawrence, Ryan Boz, Ty Colton, Markus Crane, Kyle O'Reilly, Juntai Miller and tag teams Kung Fu Manchu (Louis Lyndon & Marion Fontaine), Zero Gravity (Brett Gakiya & CJ Esparza) and L.O.S.E.R.S. (Seaman & Moondog Bernard) all appearing. Â AAW is also running 3/29 at Freakster's Roadhouse in Pontiac, IL with AAW champ Shane Hollister with Scarlett Bordeaux (beyond gorgeous) vs. Michael Elgin on top, plus AAW Heritage champ Matt Cage vs. Marek Brave, Â Louis Lyndon vs. #ALLEGO plus Rhino, ACH, Kyle O'Reilly and more. I've heard a LOT of raves for the Shane Strickland vs. Cedric Alexander match from PWX on 3/14 in Charlotte, NC.  That's available now via replay at www.highspots.tv.  The show was headlined by PWX champ Caleb Konley defeating  Chip Day.  Former WCW star Lodi, Jake Manning and former TNA Knockout Sojo Bolt also appeared.  Su Young, who has a big future as a female personality, worked the opener.

There were a number of former WWE and ECW talents working the In Your Face Wrestling event on 3/15 in Ballston Spa, NY. Â The show, dubbed "Memories, Moments & Mayhem" was headlined by Team ICON (Tommy Dreamer & Rhino, & Bobby Ocean managed by Drake Evans) winning a Elimination tag match, beating Team Legendary (Justin Credible & Chip Stetson & Pierre Vachon with Rhino goring Chip Stetson and having Evans, the manager, entering the ring to make the pin. Â Kenny Dykstra defeated "Mr. Canada" Ricky Williams by DQ. Northern Fury (Vigo & Sgt. Fury) defeated The Savage Wolves (CJ Scott & Evan Fellows) to become the new IYFW Tag Team Champions. Â Roman Dominguez defeated Liam McFerrin to retain the promotion's IYFW title.
AJ Styles vs. Chip Day will headline HTCW this Saturday 3/21 in Tallapoosa, GA.
F1rst Wrestling ran "Wrestlepalooza III" in Minneapolis on 3/14. Arik Cannon is the point person involved here. Â The show was a mix of wrestling, music and burlesque, sort of like Lucha Va Voom. Cannon, who's appeared on MTV's WSX and in DGUSA, defeated Pete Huge. Â Arya Daivari (Shawn Daivari's brother) defeated Horace the Psychopath, who's been wrestling in that scene since the late 1980s/early 1990s. There were a lot of gimmick characters on the show, including a Yeti.
Hurricane Helms worked the main event of Pro Wrestling International on 3/15 in Gibsonville, NC, losing the PWI title to Chase Dawson. Â It must have been a really physical match because Helms wrote online that he was once in a car accident and felt better after the accident than he did the day after the match. Â Ouch.

Showcase Pro Wrestling is holding an 8th Anniversary event on 3/21 at the Knight of Columbus in South Attleboro, MA featuring SPW champion Unforgiven vs. Cargill Vinton, Keanu vs. Beau Douglas, Barricade (great name) vs. "Masshole" Mike McCarthy, a Gauntlet for a SPW title shot and SPW Tag champions Eternity vs. The Refflers.Â
