JAY BRADLEY BACK WITH EXTREME RISING, PITTSBURGH MAIN EVENT, SHANE DOUGLAS KNOCKS PROMOTION AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2014-01-16 09:32:10
The 2/8 Extreme Rising return to Pittsburgh, PA will be headlined by champion Stevie Richards defending against Sabu in what is probably their first singles bout in years. They had a pretty brutal bout years ago at ECW's House Party 1996 that ended with the most insane Atomic Arabian Facebuster I've ever witnessed.

Since he has been released by TNA, Jay Bradley is already back with Extreme Rising, which intended to give him a major push before TNA came calling. He's booked on all shows going forward and is working Papadon on 2/8.

There were a few issues with local promotion of the 2/8 show. For one, Matt Hardy was erroneously advertised for the show and won't be there, which the promotion has already acknowledged and yanked. Even worse, the promotion hit the local area with posters promoting the 2/8 return, except the date of the show on the posters was 3/1 (their Philly return), which as you can imagine, could be a disaster. The promotion asked local fans to use a marker to change the date if they came across the posters. That's a really bad error to have made and unless they sell out, there's no way to not believe they lost potential fans.

Even worse, this led to Shane Douglas putting a video on his Facebook page saying "this is what happens when you let an a**** from Philadelphia" promote, knocking Steve O'Neill. Douglas then showed himself tearing down the poster and ripping it up. Douglas left the promotion last year after the different sides couldn't get on the same page. O'Neill hasn't returned a call for comment.

Former Tough Enough competitor M-Dog 20 Matt Cross and Gregory Iron are debuting on 2/8.

Also announced for the show, which has been titled "Black, Gold & Extreme" is Crowbar vs. Rhino in a Falls Count Anywhere match, -Luke Hawx vs. Rich Ortiz, Facade vs. Matt Cross, BLK OUT vs. Da Hit Squad, plus Balls Mahoney, Robbie Mireno, Jake Manning, Blue Meanie and more.

As noted, the return to the former ECW Arena will be 3/1.

Since the TV show is delayed until who knows when, the promotion will be releasing their return to the Arena on DVD shortly.
