TNA GENESIS THIS WEEK, NEW TALENT COMING IN AND MORE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2014-01-13 11:05:23
TNA will run a live "Genesis" edition of Impact Wrestling this Thursday in Huntsville, Alabama. The plan is for this and next week's episodes to carry the Genesis branding.

The top matches will feature:

*Sting vs. Ethan Carter III
*Steel Cage Match: Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode
*Bully Ray vs Mr. Anderson
*TNA Knockouts champion Gail Kim vs. Madison Rayne
*James Storm vs. Gunner for the TNA title shot Briefcase.

There should be some new talent debuting soon as well. TNA has reached out to a number of former ROH champions in the last month.

The original plan for the Magnus vs. AJ Styles title unification was for it to take place at Genesis, but due to Styles' contract extension ending, they had to move it up before the end of December.

As we've noted, there were some in TNA who felt Magnus vs. Styles would headline Lockdown on 3/9 on PPV, so we will see, but Styles is already announced for April ROH TV tapings that would air in May. Styles originally didn't take ROH dates while he was negotiating with TNA as he didn't want to commit to another TV-branded product when he could be going back to TNA, so take that for what you may.

The official TNA Germany Facebook page announced that "Bad Bones" John Klinger, who won the Gut Check Challenge fan voting contest back in June, will be part of TNA's shows in London and Birmingham.

Ken Anderson noted on Twitter today that his wife will be giving birth today. Congratulations to them both.

James Storm did a Q and A with The Dothan Eagle, which you can read by clicking here.

Rob Terry is headed for another tour with WRESTLE-1 (1/12 to 1/31).

Thanks to Phil Lions.
