JARRETT & AJ STYLES UPDATES, TNA TAG TEAM PPV TONIGHT, LIVE EVENTS THIS WEEKEND, DREAMER AND MORE TNA NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2014-01-03 10:54:55
TNA will present their latest One Night Only PPV starting tonight, featuring a tag team tournament. Set for the show is:

*Petey Williams and Sonjay Dutt vs. Generation Me
*Aces & Eights (Garett Bischoff and Wes Brisco) vs. The Hot Shots (Cassidy Riley and Chase Stevens)*Austin Aries and Bobby Roode vs. The British Invasion (Douglas Williams and Rob Terry)
*Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels and Kazarian) vs. Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez
*Team 3D (Bully Ray and Devon) vs. winners of GenMe vs. Dutt & Williams
*Magnus and Samoa Joe vs. winners of Hot Shots vs. Aces & Eights
Finals

Jeff Jarrett is officially free and clear to do anything he wants as of 1/6, so I'd expect to see he and Karen Jarrett taking independent bookings at that time. There was definitely a feeling that things had changed at the live events over the weekend without Jarrett at the PPVs. Al Snow was the head agent over the weekend.

There was a feeling within the company that the reason AJ Styles decided to take dates with Ring of Honor and back off negotiating with TNA was the exit of Jarrett.

The next live episode of Impact will carry the Genesis tag and feature Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode in a Steel Cage and Sting vs. Ethan Carter III. Originally, AJ Styles vs. Magnus was slated for that show as well, but well, Styles left the company. TNA is selling VIP packages vs ShopTNA.com.

The TNA shows in NY over the weekend did very well. Westbury, Long Island drew in the 2,000-2,100 range, the best that building has done for the promotion in some time and the company was really thrilled about that since they had WWE running MSG a few days earlier to contend with. The Oldschool PPV taping in Poughkeepsie, NY drew close to a sellout. A lot of that was being credited to local promotion, including the Tommy Dreamer/House of Hardcore cross-over. Of course, they then put Dreamer on third, which when you think about it, was pretty stupid to do that in the guy's home venue.

Speaking of Dreamer, as I noted in the PWInsider Elite section, he has not been offered nor has he signed a TNA deal. He was originally booked just for the Oldschool PPV and was added to the Hardcore Justice PPV (which, Dreamer stated, he didn't know he was working until he read it here on PWInsider). At the last minute, he was added to the Philly and Long Island house shows as a surprise. As of right now, those were his only dates with the company.

TNA has three live shows this weekend. Using a crew of Bully Ray, Samoa Joe, Magnus, Mr. Anderson, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Gunner, The Bro Mans, Chris Sabin, Austin Aries and Gail Kim, they are running tonight in Batesville, Arkansas at Southside High School, tomorrow 1/4 they are running Jonesboro, Arkansas at the Earl Bell Community Center and Sunday 1/5 they are running Jackson, TN at the Jackson Northside High School. The obviously smaller venues are part of the company's initiative to run more live events every month to help support the creation of the Impact 365 content.

The Lockdown PPV should be announced within the next few weeks. They were finalizing location possibilities at the end of the year.

The BroMans are featured in the new issue of Flex Magazine in photos from the Bound for Glory PPV, when Mr. Olympia appeared in their corner.

TNA has released a new Abyss t-shirt as well as several new logo shirt designs.
