REPORT FROM TNA FAN PARTY IN LONDON FEATURING MAGNUS, ROCKSTAR SPUD & JEREMY BORASH

By Duane Elkins on 2013-12-23 22:24:53
The event was held at the Garage in London on Sunday 12/22. The place was absolutely packed to capacity (approx 500) and was free for ticket holders of the upcoming TNA UK Tour at the end of January. Every fan was given a raffle number as they gave out merchandise the entire evening. I have attended two previous fan parties and this was the best one yet.

Jeremy Borash came out to start the party and was hysterical, talking about why he loves coming to the United Kingdom. Borash knows the United Kingdom culture and had the crowd in the palm of his hands with lots of jokes about his favorite things about England. He talked about being all over the Sky Sports tv broadcast the previous evening at the World Darts Championship. Borash then showed some videos of Austin Aries, Mr. Anderson and Magnus all singing their favorite Christmas songs. The crowd loved the videos, especially Aries who did a great job singing Silent Night. The crowd even joined in. I believe this is the first time I have ever heard 500 wrestling fans sing Silent Night. Really funny.

Borash then talked about the success of British Boot Camp and introduced Rockstar Spud to the stage. Spud came out to a - well, rockstar reception and was hysterical making fun of people in the crowd. Spud was dressed in his television outfit complete with heat seeking bow tie. Spud then introduced the Magnus vs Hardy match (which was to air later that night in the UK) and the crowd watched on. After the win, Spud introduced "the first British-born World Heavyweight Champion in 108 years, Magnus."

Magnus came out to his entrance music and really came off like a superstar. The crowd went crazy as he spoke for several minutes about becoming world champion.

Borash welcomed up several fans and gave away autographed merchandise and played some funny games with the audience. He then welcomed out Georgia Smith, the daughter of the British Bulldog who received a great reception. She helped give away some autographed Jeff Hardy artwork.

Borash brought back out Spud and Magnus who answered questions for about 30 minutes as part of the IMPACT Podcast. This was the best part as they were hysterical together and took questions from people in the crowd and via twitter.

Borash then welcomed out the Director of Challenge TV who talked with JB about the importance of promoting the British wrestling scene and how great 2014 will be for TNA/Challenge partnership.

Borash then gave out more stuff to the point where everyone left with at least one autographed item.

Magnus, Spud and Borash ended the party by staying until the last fan got an autograph and a picture. Magnus took photos with everyone holding the World Heavyweight Championship. Quite a task considering the crowd. Overall, an excellent well organized, fun event. Can't wait for the tour!
