First off, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The Cena heel turn? Somebody asked today about it again, and implied that people that want it are "stupid". Well, here's the thing, in terms of fans, what difference would it make? You'll still have a segment that will cheer and a segment that will boo. You said it would "mix things up". The question is: how? The E has not been afraid of mixing the face/heel dynamic with Cena. He's not been the generic 80s face that wrestles only heels. He feuds with whomever wants the belt when he has it, and tried to get back to whomever has the belt when he doesn't. Yes, he's often been the "guy" that makes the save, but even at that, they've been giving other guys that spot recently. My belief is that people simply want to see another "Hogan turns" moment as that created excitement. Personally, I think it'd make more sense to continue to let Bryan organically build as a a the huge face and then turn him for the effect. So, to sum up, what difference would it make to turn Cena other than to cost the E merch money and the good will of Make a Wish?
Here is the problem, he sells a ton of merchandise right now, mostly to kids. If he turns heel, the adults that boo him now may or may not cheer, but they will not buy anywhere near as much merchandise. That is real money. Plus, you aren't taking into account that WWE's primary audience is kids, and most of them like Cena. Turning him could turn them off, something the company doesn't want to do. Also, don't undersell the goodwill of his work with Make A Wish, and also the positive publicity it brings the company.
Who would you have Batista feud with during his return run taking into account that someone of his notoriety could make a few wrestling stars?
I would have him work Undertaker at Mania. He could say he did it all in WWE except one thing, end the streak. That makes the most sense to me.
Just question that's got me wondering: why does Randy Orton still carry the two titles after they were supposedly "unified"? I find it odd that a new title belt hasn't been forged to recognize the fact that there is a "unified" champion.Do you think there is a possibility of going down the route of having a split championship once more till say, WrestleMania?
No it's just more than the whole unified deal was done so quickly that they didn't plan in advance to have a new belt made.
On the Dec 2nd episode of Raw didn’t the WWE universe “choose†in a poll to name the new champion “The Unified Champion?†Why are they now calling Randy Orton “The WWE/World champion?â€
They said they would "take it under advisement". They never said they would let the fans make the call.
Would WWE ever think about airing Raw & Smackdown live on their own network instead of the other networks?
No time soon. The rights fees for the shows are too great to walk away from the money that they bring in. I only see them doing that if they have no other reasonable option.
