No, actually it has nothing to do with the blood. The Pioneer ECW masters aren't owned by WWE. Since they were licensed out to Pioneer by ECW, they remained owned by Pioneer and were specifically not part of the ECW assets purchased by WWE in 2001. Now WWE owns all the matches that were featured on those DVDs, but not the DVD collections themselves. So, any chance of seeing the old "Best of" DVDs that I scripted back in the day appearing on WWE Classics, well, not going to happen!
In 2003, Vince was scheduled to fight Stephanie in an I Quit Match at No Mercy. I remember reading that Maryland prohibited male-on-female violence and that this posed a problem for them to do that match. Do you recall how WWE got around this?
WWE paid whatever they were going to be fined by the Athletic Commission and went about their business. Money was not going to force them to diverge from their plans.
During the Attitude Era, on both USA and Spike/TNN, the word "balls" was bleeped every time it was used on Raw. That word has been used a few times this year, the last occurrence being on this week's Raw (Dec 9), and hasn't been censored. Do you know why that word was edited during the TV-14 period, but not the TV-PG period? Shouldn't WWE have an "L" descriptor in their TV-PG graphic, too?
It's not WWE that censors their language, but the network, so it may be that there are a different set of standards in 2013 than there were in 1998-2002.
Since AJ Styles is really leaving TNA, I can't imagine WWE offering him the money he wants to perform there. Do you see ROH making a strong run to sign AJ Styles to a contract? Sinclair certainly has the funds and I think it would be a huge acquisition for the company.
Nothing is 100% certain until his deal expires on 12/16, but I would be shocked if we don't see AJ Styles in Ring of Honor over the next year, but my gut feeling is that he won't sign a deal with anyone unless it's for the amount of money he's looking for - so if he ends up signing, it will be for WWE, New Japan or TNA. I just don't see ROH having the type of money (a mid-six figure deal) that Styles would likely command.
What are the chances we see a roof raising tag team dream match between Cm Punk and Daniel Bryan vs HHH and HBK at WM30?
I think we are more likely to see singles matches, but nothing is 100% set yet.
