WWE RELEASING BIG DVD BOX SET TOMORROW, WWE TV UPDATES, CLASSICS ANNOUNCES END OF VOD, FOLEY AND TONS MORE WWE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2013-12-02 13:54:38
As we noted earlier, WWE will tape Raw tonight in Oklahoma City. They will tape Smackdown and Main Event tomorrow in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

WWE will return to Los Angeles with a 2/10/14 Raw taping at the Staples Center. Tickets will officially go on sale on 12/6.

All of the offerings on WWE's Classics on Demand VOD channel now open with an announcement from Gene Okerlund that the service will end as of 1/31/14.

The preview for this weekend's Total Divas: "Trinity grows tired of Jon's jealous ways. Nikki and Brie continue their feud. Nattie and TJ are devastated when they have to euthanize their pet."

WWE will release their first ever Raw box set tomorrow, featuring complete episodes from the first 20 years of the series' run. They are marketing this as unedited episodes, but there are the usual changes you would expect (theme music changes, sponsorship mentions removed, Chris Benoit being downplayed) but the collection is pretty damn awesome overall with some excellent choices historically for complete episodes.

Kentucky.com featured an interview with Mick Foley discussing his comedy tour and more at this link. Foley has a tour date in Lexington, KY this Wednesday.

The Chatanooga Times Free Press featured a piece on Gunner Miller, a college football player who has been publicly discussing his desire to get into WWE down the line. He's been lined up for a WWE tryout via Gerald Brisco for next year. You can read more about him by clicking here.

Brisco was at the "Grapple at the Garden" amateur wrestling meet over the weekend in NYC's Madison Square Garden scouting talent.

The next scheduled WWE NXT taping in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University is 1/9.

Highlander: Endgame which features WWE Hall of Famer Edge in a small role has been added to Netflix streaming. Thanks to Paul Jordan.

Some updated numbers on WWE Studios' DVD releases:

12 Rounds 2 has made $1,504,252 since its release its June, $919,421 in DVD sales and $584,831 in Blu-Ray.

The latter two have already made far beyond their initial budgeting.
