This was your run of the mill, thumbs in the middle, WWE house show fare, but this had a stronger line up then the other crew running in Mexico tonight, which surprised me.
1. Tons of Funk beat The Real Americans
No Zeb Colter with the Real Americans. This match lasted quite awhile, with Tons of Funk finally getting the duke. No giant swing from Cesaro here, which disappointed me. It was easy to see how much better a worker Cesaro is than Swagger.
2. Naomi w/Cameron beat Brie Bella w/Nikki Bella
The Funkadactyls stayed in the ring after the opener to segue right into this. Naomi's flying butt bump got the biggest reaction of this match, and Naomi won it with a crossbody off the top. Don't send the WWE a memo, but Brie Bella wasn't that over as a babyface here, but then again this was a face vs face match.
3. Justin Gabriel beat Tyler Breeze
Breeze cut a promo before the match, and got decent enough heat. Decent enough match between these guys too, and decent enough reactions, so overall I'd say this was decent enough. Gabriel won with a top rope moonsault from the middle of the rope, not from the turnbuckle.
4. Big Show, Miz & Dolph Ziggler beat The Shield by DQ
Pro wrestling is the only job I know of where you can get "fired" from, and keep right on working. Big Show said he was still fulfilling a few contracts, even though he'd fired. Makes zero sense on any level, but it didn't matter to the crowd, Big Show was crazy over here. Miz took the heat, and Show didn't tag in at all until the finish. Show had Rollins and Ambrose in position for a double choke slam, but Reigns gave Show a low blow from behind, which caused a lame disqualification on The Shield.
Intermission.
5. Fandango w/Summer Rae beat Santino Marella
The did the "dreaded" fan vote here of other these guys either having a match, or a dance off. Dance off won the vote 51% to 49%, but Fandango attacked Marella while he was "dancing"(?), so Marella then demanded a match. Why the Hell have the fan vote if they were just going to do the match all along anyhow? Gee, it wouldn't be they want peoples cell phone numbers would it??? Nah, couldn't be that.......Anyhow, Santino won it with the Cobra.
6. Ryback beat Kofi Kingston
This one went a lot longer than I expected, and they gave Kofi way more than I expected. Lots of near falls by Kingston here, and the crowd at least somewhat bought into some of them, which that alone is a victory. This match had the most bobbles technically of the night, but overall I'd say the match worked for what it was. Kingston had Ryback on the run, but Ryback finally hit the Shellshock to pull it out.
7. Daniel Bryan beat Randy Orton
This was neither guy at their absolute best, but it was still a good match. Somewhat surprisingly, the crowd started chanting "Randy" a few minutes in, causing Orton to jump out of the ring and cut a heeling promo on the crowd, so he tried to shut that down quick. Bryan then attacked Orton on the floor. It kinda sorta worked, but there was also an "RKO" chant late in the bout. The crowd didn't turn on Bryan though, it was still a simple minded "Yes" chant fest. Bryan won it with his flying knee finisher.
The Shield attacked Bryan right after he won, which caused The Big Show to lumber on down and make the save, and Show then hit the double choke slam he was denied in the earlier 6 man tag. Seth Rollins sold it like he was dead in the middle of the ring to close the show, and had to be dragged out by the trainer, which was obviously not a real injury.
