EARLY WWE RAW PREVIEW, GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN=WWE?, RVD, RYBACK AND MORE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2013-10-07 09:39:22
WWE will broadcast Monday Night Raw tonight from Pittsburgh, PA. The follow-up to last night's WWE Battleground PPV will feature the follow-up on the WWE championship situation, Cody and Dustin Rhodes' first day of work, the reaction to Big Show standing up for himself and more.

WWE will then tape Smackdown in Columbus, Ohio tomorrow and WWE NXT on Thursday in Winter Patk, Florida at Full Sail University.

The New York Daily News featured a big editorial today from writer Mike Lupica drawing a comparison between the current government shut-down and last night's WWE PPV as a way to mock the politicians involved, including photos of WWE talents with the politicos' faces cut and pasted. WWE has released an official t-shirt for the Rhodes family.

Sheamus appeared at the the USA Network Characters Unite #uniteLIVE Concert to Rock Out Bullying over the weekend. He's not slated to return to the ring until 2014.

As part of their new promotional partnership with Totinos Pizza, WWE will have artwork for their new videogame on Totinos packaging and there will be a contest for copies of the game as well as a trip to a WWE event.

The WWE Goldberg DVD and Blu-Ray set will officially be released tomorrow.

It appears WWE is backing off on the amount of blu-rays they release next year as a number of upcoming sets that were originally solicited for Blu-Ray releases (Survivor Series, Raw 20th Box set) are now only being listed for DVD releases instead.

ScienctFiction.com featured comments from Ryback, culled from his Indian press tour to promote the WWE 2K14 videogame release at the end of October, noting he wants to be a villain in a comic book film. He'd make an awesome Juggernaut.

There are a number of adult WWE Halloween costumes being released this year, including Roddy Piper, Iron Sheik, Sgt. Slaughter and Steve Austin.

To help promote the Battleground PPV, Rob Van Dam filmed an interview with The Buffalo Sabres' Patrick Kaleta in the Sabres' locker room:
