After tonight's Raw in Chicago, WWE will tape Smackdown and Main Event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Kevin sent word that Showtime's new documentary on Wrestlemania celebrity wrestler and New York Giants great Lawrence Taylor covered his role headlining Wrestlemania 11 in 1995 against Bam Bam Bigelow, which got a ton of mainstream attention at the time.
Jerry Lawler worked a singles match over the weekend, defeating former WWE star Matt Striker at Northeast Wrestling's Under the Stars II in Fishkill, NY. I was told the story of the match was, if you can believe this, Striker wanting to give Lawler the heart punch so he could take Lawler out and replace him on WWE TV. I can see that having been Lawler's idea, given the angles he's done in Memphis in the past, but wow!
The New York Daily News listed WWE's debut with TLC 2012 as one of the best moments of The Barclays Center's debut year in Brooklyn, NY at this link. I was at that show live and it was a great show, so it deserves to be listed. Thanks to Jeff Sheridan.
WWE will run a rare Wednesday night house show on 11/6 in Columbia, SC en route to heading overseas for a big European tour.
The Daily News in North Carolina featured a piece on WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard's ministry work with incarcerated prisoners at this week. That's been the focus of Blanchard's work in recent years.
Tommy Dreamer has a role in the new horror film "Self Storage", which was just released via iTunes in advance of a DVD release. The plot of the film - "Looking to party, a night watchman invites his friends to the self-storage facility he works at for a wild night of girls and booze. As partiers start disappearing one-by-one, the survivors must outsmart a mastermind, whose horrifying plan is unfolding behind closed doors. Full of gore, suspense and terror, Self Storage is a twisted tale of survival with no way out."
Ed Jones from Queens sent this item. ... At yesterday's NY Jets-Buffalo Bills game at MetLife Stadium (home of Wrestlemania 29), Lillian Garcia sang the national anthem. In an interview during the game she said it was her 9th time performing it at a Jets game. It was her usual strong rendition, the fans gave a great ovation. Go Jets!
