STEPH SELLING STOCK, WWE DOING WRONG BY JIM ROSS, MCMATH AND MORE

Michael Cole has been positioned to be the "Voice of the WWE" for a while now as lead commentator and now that JR has "resigned", do you think that Michael Cole will ever be on anyone's Top 10 Commentators List? Personally, he just doesn't have that IT factor to me and I liked him much better commentating on Smackdown in his early days with Tazz than him being the "Voice of the WWE" with Lawler.

Sure, I bet he is on his own list. Seriously, Cole can be very good when he is focused on the product and not playing a character.

Why does WWE always seem to have it in for JR? They repeatedly embarrass him in his home town, replaced him with Michael Cole allegedly due to his age/looks, and now force him into "retirement" allegedly due to one incident which was really not as big a deal as some things others who are still around have done. Don't you think he has earned a little more respect than what has been shown to him by management?

I do, for sure. I wrote a column about it last week. I don't get why WWE doesn't show more respect for a guy that has given them so much and means what he does in the history of the company.

Why would someone in Stephanie McMahon's position be selling so much stock? I would think the McMahon family would want to hang onto as many shares to keep more control in the company. Does this benefit Stephanie or could there be a long-term payoff for WWE by doing this?

The McMahons have complete control of the voting stock, so that isn't an issue. Why she is selling so much I have no idea since she hasn't commented on the issue. With the company lowering their guidance last Friday, it will be interesting to see how the stock reacts today. Very interesting.

Dave, I've just read your opinion on Jim Ross' "retirement" and I do agree that he deserves a more respectful way of announcing his retirement than an eight lined news on the companies homepage. But I don't think it's Vince's intention to disrespect JR. With Monday Night Football back it'd be a bit risky to "waste their TV time" with a goodbye ceremony for JR. Yeah sure, for those like us who know how important JR has been for the WWE it'd never be a waste of time. But I don't see a chance where a ceremony could draw bigger audiences than an action packed show - especially when they're on against the NFL and remembering that JR hasn't been on Raw for quite a while. Feel free to comment.

What do you call Dr. Heiney? I mean seriously, Vince has dissed JR so many times over the years with things like, embarrassing him in his home state, etc. And I totally disagree with you, much like wrestling weddings a retirement ceremony for JR would grab ratings. For sure.

If the WWE just celebrated their 50th anniversary recently, why then in the mid-90’s did their opening montage state that they were the worldwide leader in sports entertainment for over 50 years? Were they going back to their NWA days? Part two of this query, why does Mike Johnson not feature an email link to ask questions in his Q&A columns like you do?

WWE isn't the best company in the world when it comes to anniversaries, as we have seen over the years. As for Mike, I have no idea! That is a question you can ask him.
