Drake Younger vs. Johnny Gargano

They went back and forth on the mat with some nice reversals and near falls early.  They faced off and got a really nice pop.

They went to the overtime.  Younger was distracted by DJ Hyde, who had walked over to the guard rail and yelled something. Gargano capitalized and scored the pin.

Your winner, Johnny Gargano!

For some reason, my laptop rebooted in the middle of the opener, so obviously that wasn't anywhere near the detail we usually have.  My apologies for that.

A really good opener.

After, Younger cut a promo and said he wanted Hyde in any match he wanted.  Hyde laughed at him.

Candice LaRae vs. Katarina Leigh

This is the first in WCA's Women's Beat the Champ series and is held under the same rules as the Race for the Ring Tournament.  Katarina is the former Winter/Katie Lea Burchill.

Katarina worked her over in the corner.  LaRae nailed a rana but was caught with a swinging backbreaker over the knee for a three count.

Katarina 1, LaRae 0

Papadon nailed several uppercuts and a belly to back suplex.   He worked over Ryan's neck.   He went to the top for a flying headbutt but Ryan rolled out of the way.     :Ryan scored with a series of clotheslines but was kicked as Papadon came off the ropes.  He fired back with a kick of his own.  Papadon nailed a F5 into a knee to the face but Ryan nailed him with a knee off the ropes.

Ryan was nailed with a Jawjacker elbow off the ropes by Papadon for a two count.  Papadon nailed a series of kicks but was rolled up for a two count.  Ryan avoided a takeover and nailed a belly to back suplex for a two count.

Ryan speared Papadon and powerbombed him for a two count.  Papadon came back with a big belly to belly suplex with a bridge for a two count.   Papadon nailed a series of elbows to the face and drilled Ryan with an inverted DDT for a two count.

Papdon used a drop toehold into the ropes on Ryan.  Papadon drilled him with a shining wizard and picked up Ryan for a brainbuster for a three count.

Your winner, Papadon!

Papadon was interviewed after the match.  He said that Ryan is very talented and it's no surprise he represents the fans here, but for every ounce of talent Ryan has, Papadon was that much better.  He said in October, he will be that much better and so on and so on.
