RAW FINISH CHANGES SMACKDOWN LINEUP, DOLPH UPDATE AND MORE WWE NEWS

The legitimately stopped finish of Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton on Raw led to WWE dropping their planned Bryan vs. Dean Ambrose match for this week's Smackdown. The show will instead be headlined by a Bryan vs. Orton rematch. That decision was made because WWE is trying to build Bryan up for a run challenging for the WWE championship and the Orton match was considered an important step in that journey.

Smackdown will also feature:

*Sheamus vs. Cody Rhodes.
*WWE Intercontinental champion Curtis Axel vs. Wade Barrett
*WWE Divas champ AJ Lee vs. Natalya.
*World champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho
*Christian vs. Drew McIntyre.

As we discussed in the PWInsider.com Elite section, Rob Van Dam's new WWE deal is said to be a part time deal, not a full-time back on the road contract. It's not currently a long-term deal.

For those who have asked, Dolph Ziggler is not injured. WWE holding him out of the ring is completely storyline as a way to build to the eventual rematch with Alberto Del Rio. One proposed storyline that was discussed Ziggler winning at Money in the Bank to cash in at Summerslam.

Christian's first storyline back will kick off on Smackdown.
