HEALTH CONCERN CHANGES CZW TOURNAMENT OF DEATH AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2013-05-31 14:32:47
Matt Tremont has pulled out of the 6/8 CZW Tournament of Death due to a potential health issue. As part of new rules for the State of Delaware, anyone competing in a Death Match style show, everyone involved is required to have passed a blood test. Tremont has been unable to be cleared via the normal blood test due to a previous health issue with his Pancreas. He has undergone another test but the laboratory work won't be back until after 6/8, so he can't compete.

With Tremont out, the promotion has shuffled the deck and reworked the first round of the tournament. Joe Gacy has also been pulled as part of the creative changes.

The first round of the tournament will now feature:

*Ultraviolent Dog Collar Match: CZW champion MASADA vs. Ron Mathis.

*Mummified Barbed Wire Match: Danny Havoc vs. Rory Mondo.

*Ultraviolent Ladders Match: Lucky tHURteen vs. Scotty Vortekz

*International Panes of Glass: CZW owner DJ Hyde vs. Takumi Tsukamoto from Big Japan.

Masada will be competing despite a torn meniscus that will require surgery.

CZW has also announced that the 6/8 date will be Sami Callihan's official farewell with the promotion as he will be signing with WWE.
