TERRY FUNK-WRESTLEMANIA UPDATE, ROCK, JESSE VENTURA NOTE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2013-02-04 10:55:52
Terry Funk has been pulled by WWE from his scheduled non-wrestling appearances for Pro Wrestling Syndicate over Wrestlemania weekend. It would appear he'll be signing at AXXESS and likely inducting Mick Foley into the WWE Hall of Fame. It's a shame he was pulled as the PWS shows were the first events Funk was booked to appear on since the AWE Night of Legends PPV a few years back where he lost to Tommy Dreamer.

The Rock is not slated to appear live on Raw tonight.

Speaking of Rock, while it was being touted last night was his first Super Bowl commercial, a few readers pointed out that he did appear in WWF's commercial during the 1999 game.

There was talk a few weeks about a Money in the Bank match for Wrestlemania, but all signs are that talk has been dropped.

Some of you in the United States probably saw the news over the weekend of former Navy SEAL turned author Chris Kyle being murdered by another former serviceman who was allegedly dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. There is a small wrestling connection here. Dave sent word that Jesse Ventura actually had an active lawsuit against Kyle for claiming on televised appearances that he once punched Ventura in a Minnesota bar for disrespecting the armed servicemen. Ventura claimed the statement was false and had defamed him. Kyle had failed to get the case thrown out and it was set to be heard this June. Obviously, the case can't go further now.
