A VERY HAPPY D.C. DRAKE CORRECTION

By Mike Johnson on 2012-12-05 08:16:32
Several days ago, PWInsider.com and a number of other outlets reported the passing of Don "D.C." Drake, a former top Northeastern independent star in the late 1980s and early 1990s for the National Wrestling Federation and The Tri-State Wrestling Alliance.

While we noted that yesterday, we would have more on his passing and career, over the course of the day, we received word that led to us pausing on running any retrospectives. We are very happy to inform everyone that the news of Drake's passing is indeed incorrect.

Carlee Stackhouse, Drake's sister, has reached out to PWInsider.com and other outlets, noting that she spoke to her brother yesterday and he is fine.

It's important to note that a number of people who worked with and were close with Drake in the past had noted his passing, so it appears to be a case of Drake not being in close communication with the business helping to lend credibility to the report. From my attempts to trace the report's origins, they seem to start with a former Philadelphia-based promoter, who made the comments on his Facebook page.

PWInsider.com is very happy to apologize for the error and have reached out to Stackhouse to offer Drake a chance to comment on the matter personally.
