HARDYS RESURRECTING OMEGA FOR GREAT CAUSE, GENERICO, CHIKARA BACK IN NYC, SOMETHING COOL FOR WRESTLING GAMERS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-11-12 18:03:01
OMEGA Wrestling, the promotion run by the Hardys when they first broke into the business, will be running their first event in years on 1/15/13 in Durham, NC at Northern Durham High School. The show, titled "Chinlock for Chuck" is a benefit event for wrestler Chuck Coates, who is battling Hodgkin's Disease. TNA champion Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Shane Helms, Christian York, Lodi, CW Anderson and Gunner will all be appearing at the event. For more details on attending the show and helping the cause, visit www.Facebook.com/ChinlockforChuck.

For those of you who are fans of good wrestling video games, there is a pretty interesting Kickstarter campaign ongoing for "Pro Wrestling X" a new computer game inspired by the N64 WWF and WCW games. If you are a gamer, this one sounds like a lot of fun and a really good, worthwhile project to check into and support at this link.

CHIKARA will be running NYC this Sunday at the Highline Ballroom with a 1 PM belltime. Marty Jannetty and the 1-2-3 Kid will be reuniting their old WWF Tag Team championship team at the event, facing the old Heart Throbs tag team. The show will be headlined by a 16 man Torneo Cibernetico, plus Soldier Ant vs. Mark Angelosetti. Dasher Hatfield vs. Icarus and Fire Ant vs. The Shard. For tickets, visit www.chikarapro.com. If you've never been to a CHIKARA show at the Highline, it's a great intimate venue that I really enjoy.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has released an El Generico DVD titled "The Many Adventures Of..." featuring a ton of his matches with the company at this link. There's been some WWE interest in Generico in recent weeks.

The Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Fanfest should begin making announcements for their next gathering (formerly the NWA Legends Fanfest, as the new management of that organization decided they didn't want an association) in the next week.
