Johnson responded to the reports via his Twitter, responding they were, "Garbage rumor #BS" but some outlets have played with the idea that Johnson was simply trying to throw the media off the trail of the story.
The series features a number of celebrities stranded in a remote area where they have to complete different challenges and survive eliminations. The season would kick off on 11/11 on ITV.
Former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson appeared on the lone American season of the series, which aired here on NBC.
It should be interesting to see if there's any basis of fact for the stories, especially since Johnson has a Royal Rumble PPV main event, Wrestlemania and a number of films he is shooting for and will be obligated to promote over the next few months.
Johnson will host and executive produce his own reality series "Hero" for TNT. Casting for that series, where normal everyday heroes will be tasked to complete superhuman heroic feats, is now underway.
