Ordinarily I wouldn't do this but given the circumstances of this past week, I wanted to use whatever goodwill I have to reach out and try and help good people going through some really bad times.
As many of you know, I am a Jersey Shore guy. Seeing a place that matters so much to me be so devastated by Hurricane Sandy has really saddened me. Watching the telethon on NBC tonight hammered home that in times like this people have to help each other and sometimes that means imposing. So I am asking everyone that has a little extra money to help people in genuine need.
If you have 10 dollars to spare you can text REDCROSS to 90999.
If you want to have a different amount in mind you can go to www.redcross.org and give whatever you want. The affected people back east can really use it.
America is a family and some of our members need our help. Thanks for reading this.
Update: I heard from a friend that it's better to send money directly to the Red Cross and not use your phone because it can take up to 60 days (i.e. after you pay your bill) for the Red Cross to get the money. If you want to use your phone, go to www.itunes/redcross. Thanks!
