WWE HEADING TO LAWLER COUNTRY THIS WEEK, BRODUS AND SNOOP DOGG REUNITE, JERICHO AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-10-15 11:13:25
As noted earlier, Raw will be taped in Nashville tonight. Tomorrow, Smackdown will be taped in Memphis, TN. One would assume Jerry Lawler will appear in some fashion this week at one of the tapings, even if it's just for the live crowd. If anyone is attending either taping, we are seeking live and spoiler reports. Thanks!

Ringside Collectibles' 2012 Ringsidefest event will be held this Saturday in NYC at Carolines Comedy Club with WWE champion CM Punk, AJ Lee and Sin Cara appearing. The event will be sold out anytime now, so if you want to go, order tickets at www.ringsidefest.com ASAP.

WWE star Brodus Clay makes a cameo in the new Snoop Dogg "Pocket Like It's Hot" music video. Clay worked as a bodyguard for Snoop before becoming a pro wrestler. The song is a full-length video take off on "Drop it like it's hot." Brodus (Snoop's actual name, which is probably the inspiration for the ring name) appears near the end, and then afterwards as a tease for bonus footage on Facebook. Thanks to Mike Guiry for his help.

Whatever the issue last week with Zack Ryder's latest online episode, WWE ended up pulling it and it never aired, not even in an edited form.

Matt June sent the following....I saw Chris Jericho at the Journey/Pat Benatar/Loverboy concert in Tampa last night. He was awesome in person. I yelled from a section away, "I'm a Jerichoholic!" as he walked by. Five minutes later he came out of his way to say "Hello" and take photos with my step-son and I. We talked for a few minutes about old ECW days and the 4-way (I was there). When I asked about a WWE return he responded "Stay tuned." Anyway, a super-nice guy who was seen posing for pictures all night with fans.

Former WWE star Cliff "Domino" Compton appeared over the weekend in Louisville, KY at "Beauty for a Benefit", a Murder Mystery dinner event with proceeds going to Home of the Innocent. The event consisted of a dinner, silent auctions, and a Murder Mystery theme. Home of the innocent is a safe haven for community's underprivileged kids in Louisville and one of the few hospitals in the country that can provide for children with special needs. They have had their budget cut tremendously and the event raised a great deal of money for the cause. Last year, Compton helped raise $2000 at an OVW benefit event for the family of a teenaged fan, Trey Zwicker, who had been murdered.
