Cole wrote about speaking to Lawler on Twitter, describing him as in good spirits and saying Lawler told him he was "taking the strap down" in reference to Lawler pulling down the strap right before he made his big babyface comeback.
There is no timetable for Lawler to be released from Montreal to return to Memphis at this time, nor is there any timetable regarding when he returns to his WWE duties.
Now that he is looking to make a recovery, most of the discussion among wrestlers has been around how lucky Lawler was and whether the company would allow him to return to the ring or not.
