LAWLER MEDICAL EMERGENCY: UPDATED 10:55 PM

By Mike Johnson on 2012-09-10 22:55:23
Michael Cole announced that Jerry Lawler was being given CPR backstage and his medical issue was "not part of tonight's entertainment."

Lawler was rushed to a local hospital as quickly as EMTs could move him. 7-10 EMTs and WWE staffers rushed an unconscious Lawler out of the Arena after he collapsed while calling a tag bout during Raw.

At 10:40 PM, Michael Cole announced that Lawler was breathing on his own and was being treated at a local Montreal hospital. Cole did not give further information on Lawler's condition, noting that he was receiving oxygen but could breath on his own. Cole then announced that WWE would not continue to provide commentary out of respect for Lawler. He hoped they would give an update before the show went off the air tonight.

At 10:55 PM, Michael Cole returned to the air to note that they have been given a report which he "hoped was encouraging" that Lawler was more responsive and was reacting to stimuli. He was waiting to get a CT Scan done and has been placed in an "isolated emergency room."

Obviously, we wish Lawler nothing but the best and we ask that everyone keep him in your thoughts this evening.

We will update as we know more.
