Actor Michael Clark Duncan, who was a huge wrestling fan and starred in "The Scorpion King" with the Rock, passed away yesterday following complications from a July heart attack at the age of 54. Duncan was a staple when WWE ran California and sat ringside at Wrestlemania in 2000 just as his star was taking off as a film actor. A lot of the WWE crew were sad to hear of his passing backstage at Raw as he was a huge fan and loved talking to them about the business.
In response to Duncan's passing, The Rock wrote, "When something happens, we always say it happens for a reason" ~ Michael Clarke Duncan 12/10/57 - 9/3/12 I'll miss you my brother.."
Randy Orton is slated to begin film "12 Rounds Reloaded" in British Columbia this month, so he'll be finishing up his wrestling commitments shortly. In the film, according to WWE's press release a few months back, "Orton will portray an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who finds himself caught in a deadly 12-round game of cat and mouse with a vigilante tied to the paramedic's past. With little time to spare and his wife's life hanging in the balance, the EMT must figure out why he's been chosen to be the pawn in this maniac's game before it's too late." John Cena starred in the original "12 Rounds" with this being the company's attempt to create their next film franchise following "The Marine."
